US Senators are elected from the states - why you think they should have nothing to say about what goes on in the state they are elected from amazes me - I've rarely seen anything quite that dumb.
The UAW is a national organization and elections involved with them are national issues - far more than local police procedures that involve zero national issues or laws.
Finally, to show the degree of your ignorance on the subject please see :

It wasn't a state issue, it wasn't a national issue, it was a local issue (Chattanooga)...period.

Then why did Obama weigh in - or did you miss that link?
It is far more appropriate for a US Senator elected from a state (yes, people in Chattanooga vote in Tenn elections) to comment on such a "local" issue as is the President of the US.
..and such an issue is no less local than local police action and local criminal trials - but then I'm sure that concept is too difficult for you to understand.
You folks are so bent on avoiding reality that no matter how clear evidence is you can't see it - none are so blind as those who WILL not see.
No what they wanted was a work council which is not the same thing as a union. It is an inter company program not something run by outside thugs and thieves.
Sir, keep it civil, your posts reveal a lot about you.
Whom were you referring to? A simple 'quote reply' works wonders rather than a reply.

You are correct. I clicked on the wrong block. It was to be directed to a selected person, but it does apply to all of us---if the shoe fits....
You wouldn't believe the number of people that do that on a regular bases and new members who don't know. No harm no foul was just wondering whom the reply was too.

I don'r know of any factory or industry that would want a union as unions are always invited in by the workers and not the owners.

I always thought that the Unions were not wanted anymore because that way Corporations could hire people for far less wages- and have more money for themselves (?). I was still a kid when I began hearing about that stuff. Not real sure.
The Unions backing Obama may have caused a further downslide for them.

We, the workers went through the invite in and the final vote wasn't even close. Less than 3% wanted union. Two manufacturing plants and 80 some labs coast to coast.

3% More against the Union then voted for, .The vote was 712 against and I think673 for it. Anyhow it was only about 40 votes difference ,not quite enough people is angry with that Company yet,I'm sure it won't take much longer. About another year. unless the company changes it's tactics. The total vote was around 1400 votes. ''Gem''
In this day and age can't figure out who would really want the union.

Stunned by PINKERTONS, were they? I was not there.
BoJester-maybe people are starting to catch on to the fact that unions benefit the union bosses rather than the rank and file. Look at what the unions have done to Detroit. Look at what public sector unions are doing across the country with towns and cities going broke because of union demands. Look at the teachers' union where incompetent educators cannot be fired for non performance without an expensive lawsuit resulting. We should ban all unions from the public sector and let those in the private sector survive if they can. Good Luck America !!!

I'll give this an Amen. I had to work with unions in the past. No way would I ever work for or with them in the future. The union I worked with as a supervisor was the UAW never again.
