In your yards, did you know that you may find a particular small green clover with distinct heart shaped leaves, that in the spring and summer will put out a small yellow flower? This little green heart-shaped clover usually hangs out in the shadowy areas of your yard.
There is the same clover, with the heart- shaped leaves, that if it is growing in direct sunlight- it is purple. Still puts out a small yellow flower.
If you pick some up with it's roots, put it in water for a while, then in a plant pot and put it on your window shelf it will grow big, pretty, and spread as big as the pot is to hanging over it. It is normally a ground cover but since it is small, it usually gets mowed down. The little heart-shaped leaves fold up at night.

You can take mulch mixed with lots of sand and make a small pile anywhere in your yard. Then get any of those real cheap cacti at the stores and replant them in your mulch-sand mix and they will grow and flower all summer long. You just have to bring them in during the rainy seasons, or cover them, as the small ones will melt. Small Joshua Trees grow real good like this.
Field flowers are very beautiful when you uproot them, place the plant in water for a while, then plant in your yard or a flower pot. The original weed-type plant will die off, but the new growth is a much deeper colored flower, bushier, and just a pretty as store bought seeds and potted flowers.
When a rose has died off, sometimes that have a big red bulb directly under it called a rose-hip. The red rose-hip is full of seeds and when planted will grow that exact same rose bush. If there is no rose-hip, you can cut the stem long and put it in water to grow a new branch and roots. Same thing, the exact same rose bush.
Any other Green-thumbs out there?

Venus Fly Traps are to cool! Bought one many years ago and they do trap insects in their leaves. Toothpicks too!
