Just because an aide made a list of talking points, does not mean they were needed. This alone would not be proof of President Trump's lack of empathy.

Hey the Townhall was nothing more than evil motivations period. The idiot that opened, set the leftist liberal tone for banning guns as the only solution, with cheers from the brainwashed students. He set the division ensuring that nothing Marco Rubio said could be accepted by students and he knew damn well that peer pressure would corral the sheep into the agenda.
CNN knows that the event will stir leftist sheep around the country and harden their minds to hate anything President Trump does to prevent and protect students, even if his execution is 100% effective in protecting students , they will hate him and organize marches around the country for not doing the only thing they want "banning guns". CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, LIBERAL INTERNET SITES will capitalize on this from now until the 2018 election convincing voters that President Trump does not care about children being massacred.
After eight years of Obama dividing deep lines between conservatives and liberals, notice how the last year they have evolved into being shameless about the visibility of their deception, no longer using hidden tactics, now it's "in your face" We hate conservatives, we will only accept it our way, we don't want to hear what conservatives have to say, we believe conservatives are the enemy, we want total rule, we don't believe the constitution applies, we are OK if our government officials break laws if it's against conservatives, we hate Christians, we want government to be over our lives, We believe we should profit from the rich to make our lives better, and this is only a partial list.
Only a decade ago with few exceptions, leftist would never make or verbalize these things, but now they have become so spiritually blinded, demonically lead, that they now do verbalize these things and more. I believe we have crossed a line created by leftist liberals of a divide we can never recover from. Our country has turned good vs evil, God vs Satan and his demons.
We witnessed this watching the CNN Townhall meeting with everything conservatives said stirring vocalized hate and anger and if Dana Loesch did not have security protecting her as she exited, they would have attacked her. Injuring Dana and if anger had accelerated to a mob mentality then her life being endangered was very real.
This is the environment CNN knowing created.
