I will check in on your thread! Kind Knight, I know that you have a bushel of precious apples of your eye! It was a slip..... no harm or slight intended.

No slight taken, Fair Lady. I just never pass up on the opportunity to let them or anyone know how precious each of them is to me!

It is a relief that you have such communications with God and you have permission. For me, I will speak of God and to God with deep respect and reverence; but that is just me and my upbringing. If you and your God are comfortable with your bastardization of God's name...., that is between the two of you. However, there are some folk that could and will take exception to humor of this nature. In many social circles, this is as taboo as the old baby jokes.

Really? have you ever actually read the Bible? It's chock full of jokes, as well as sex, murder, adultery and other chicanery. I have the greatest respect for God, without any mysticism. He's as real and personal to me as you are. I really couldn't care too much for peoples sensibilities either. If they're THAT sensitive, this forum is no place for them. Humor is where it is, not where you think it should be put.

Actually, I assisted my father, a Rabbi, in translation of the book you call the Bible. So, yes I have read it in several languages.

I do not recall either reprimanding or admonishing you for your humor and do not recall that I recommended any place that it may be put.

Again, I congratulate you on your relationship with your God and I do hope that it continues. I still think that your thread was in bad taste and a few people will take exception to your attempt of humor.

As you speak of the Bible and things it says, you may wish to consider: James 1:26; Colossians 4:6 as well as Proverbs 18:13.

Perhaps he failed to take to heart Psalms 19:14. :!:

I reread them, to do due diligence. They don't apply to this, unless you believe that God is "going to get me". When king David said " make a joyful noise unto the Lord " he meant laughter as well as singing and dancing.

I did, and I stated that they WERE acceptable. The names came out of the Bible, for crying out loud. You remember when some Apostles got beat up by that demon they were trying to cast out? That happened to teach them some humility, which Jesus explained to them. That's funny. God created humor and I ain't scared to use it.

AuntiE, there will always be people that want to be comedians that just don't make the grade. Those people spend the rest of their lives believing they are hilarious and they wonder why they are the only people laughing. I have been to social gatherings where the moment I walked in could tell which one fit the category, no one was talking with them!

In defense of Lpnmajor, there have been many times he has provided us with "a joyful noise" and stress relief. In this instance, I do not find "joyful".

Well, Ladies, this old warhorse needs to get some sleep. I am driving my cousin down to Temple tomorrow for his visit to the opthamologist.

It is always enjoyable to share my evening with either of you two, and having both of you here has been special. Ginnyt, it is so good to have you back on with us at any time. I hope to see you back, soon.

Goodnight.

Look around Chit Chat. He has done so rollicking word forums. In fact, this one, which you and I are not fond of, is his word work. He is masterful in using names as words and such. This one took me aback.

Before going to bed, AuntiE, I must say that it is very gracious of you to speak on Doc's behalf. I agree that he is often humorous, and it is in the spirit of his nature to be fun-loving. I consider him a good friend, and know he means no harm.

Of course, you are always very gracious, by nature.
