Should art speak for itself-- or can the voice of art, so to speak, be strengthened or weakened by details of the personal life of the artist behind the artwork? People are influenced by what they know of the artist. It helps them decipher the artist intent..
Artist thrive on art criticism wanting to know why the people saw what they did or if the artists personality traits were sufficently transformed..
Art at the end is a personal expression. It is about what happens around the artist that affects him personally that ends up expressed. And that Artist is most eager to learn if he succeeded in his message..
