Per the Bureau of Labor Statistics the article was correct.
While December 2017 did end Black unemployment at a historical low, it spiked again in January which was when Trump gave his speech.
I can readily admit this is just a technicality. But please look at the graph which indicates the incredible drop of the Black unemployment rate during the Obama administration from 2009 thru 2016.
I think it's fair, though, to ask exactly what Trump did to cause this.
It seems logical to assume, considering the trajectory, that Trump was following the same policies as Obama.
Further, when unemployment rates came down during the Obama administration the right cried that the statistics were manipulated. Now under Trump they are all of a sudden correct?

The graph is interesting BUT has the unemployment numbers not been also stated false? translating what looks like a low number is actually thrice that if not more, ending up in the 20% range.

Don't worry about it Paul. Trump quoted the December data before the new January data came out. Nobody is lying, although you liberals jump at any chance to claim a Trump lie. Sad. The fact is that the Current Population Survey is based on a sample of less than five hundredths of one percent of the population (60,000 households). That works pretty well for the overall unemployment rate, but it produces numbers that bounce around for small subsets of the population. Since the black population is only 13 percent of the total population, the resulting black data series can be erratic. So don't get excited unless we see continued high numbers for blacks in coming months. The longer-term trend for blacks is down for unemployment. That's good news. Trump will get the last laugh.
BTW. I worked closely with BLS Current Population Survey data for 36 years. I had many occasions that required calming discussions with my Governors. They always panicked and jumped to the wrong conclusions as you just did.

Honey, your argument sounds so sweet and caring, but it's actually remarkably ignorant and out of touch. Some of what you list in your comments, for example, standing with the elderly, etc., is what we as human beings, as Americans, as family and, yes, (oops, might get in trouble for this one), as brothers and sisters within a congregation of believers in Christ, automatically, out of love, do. The rest, well, they're just your standard Democrat talking points. You're so blinded by your hate for Trump that you cannot (more accurately, will not) see the good he is accomplishing for our beloved America.
