I hear you. That is my worry also. What's to stop the clowns in DC. from raising a Fair or flat tax. They are addicted to spending others money.

A form of Fair Tax has been my position for a long time. One problem with a change from the income tax is that we could end up with both! In Holland, we had a Vat Tax as well as an Income Tax, that ensured my real tax level was over 62%. On top of that, I was obligated to pay for health insurance, which upped my tax percentage to over 70%. That I had to also pay the US income tax as well, boosted me into 73%. Fortunately, we could live fairly well on the little that remained.

I have this frustration that is hard to express, and it comes from threads like this one, where I have the distinct feeling that the discussion, or whatever you call it, is addressing fairly low level ideas without having settled the larger foundations of thought that apply.

One way to restate this is the old 5 blind men and the elephant story we all know. None of them realized they were feeling an elephant.

A third way to try to express my frustration is likening the thread to a house of mirrors, where one bumbles around through the pathway and seeing greatly distorted views of oneself and others, and not realizing that the housemaster looks down on your and other's reactions and struggles and has a huge laugh about them all.

I keep wanting to begin at the beginning, not in medias res. Do you see it that way, kankune?

I had to think about that for awhile Manning. I guess I'm to the point when a party does everything they can to hide the truth from the American Citizens, and blatantly lie right to our faces, because they think we're a bunch of ignorant fools?? I can only say I'm ready to FUBAR them. I'm disgusted at what a portion of our government has become!!

He is in over his head & the swamp will just continue to stay on the path to save & strengthen the Wealthy.

Control of this Nation is in the hands of the so called swamp & there is not much hope to change the course we are on.

My two favorite words Floyd. BS! Quit giving up so easy....

Likewise. I’m also even more disgusted with a sizable percentage of the electorate turns a blind, partisan eye.

Katie, I think we have that problem with most on both sides on the hill. Neither side want the truth known. Washington DC is and has been one of the dirtiest, evil cities in the world. I had the misfortune at the tender age of 23 to equate with the denizens in the 70's. It was a canker then, it's only gotten worse since. Anyone going there to live has to be affected or will be obscured and chased away. It is evil and hell on earth. Mike

I guess I'll be bad for a little bit longer..............The swamp will be drained by the voters whom are tired of the "BULLSHIT" occurring in our nations capital. Soros Has been funding the hate and discontent spread by the Liberals. Trump is doing everything he promised, I don't see were he is in over his head. The Liberals Democrats will start throwing bricks from the old wall at him, because they have run out of money. Once the Swamp dries out, just maybe we can come together as Americans and work at making the US stronger than before. (Sure, we will never see eye to eye on everything, but as true Americans we can come together civilly and discuss our difference.) unlike what is happening now.

I agree. One truth is that there will always be differences that are irreconcilable, such as laws about abortion and same sex marriage, LGBT, etc. One can almost hear 50 million aborted babies crying in their waste baskets. Or, is it now 60 million?

To show the left and their thought process if they were to sit down and realize that there are between 50 and 60 million more democratic voters that they themselves have destroyed do you think that they would reconsider their position on abortion? NO
