Make sure it's a sleep number though.

Stocks are cash, cash is a losing deal. We bought silver at $14.xx and have made good money. Now if you were lucky and bought Google at $49 something and it went to $10xx the next day you picked right but very few did.

This graph is awesome. It compares the 1929 stock market crash as it developed - and alongside it is the current picture.

Are we prepared for this?

I do not have the link, but Yahoo money ran a piece about this chart being misleading-one of the graphs are magnified and rotated. Don't know the truth to this, but there are people out there calling this chart nothing but a fraudulent scare tactic.

Anything of this sort posted by the OPP rightwingnut club can be presumed to be fabricated and fraudulent on the basis of past record of their postings. Their viewpoint is everything negative is true and anything positive is false.

Well if it's a scare tactic it's been around months and it worked for me, I moved everything into metals.

I see you looked over my paranoia sarcasm, but that's ok.

Neither do I know if it is valid. I don't actually know if anything I read is valid, given the rotten media we now have and given there is one group trying to scare the public, another group trying to soothe the public, and half the public is apathetic and too interested in playing to be interested in their future welfare, and that leaves us - left and right who at least pay SOME KIND OF ATTENTION.

But WE, THE PEOPLE had better find out what is real and what isn't because no matter what happens, our politicians are NOT going to fix it. And unless the left and right can talk intelligently with each other, neither will WE, THE PEOPLE solve it. The left and right can never truly agree on much of anything re politics because our thinking is soooooooo very different. Me? I want government OUT OF MY LIFE. Everything the federal government does, almost without exception, burns my butt and eats my income for things it has no business doing. Either the left is unaware they are as much the victim as I am - or they can afford to be stolen from for terrible reasons. Every tax passed eats at your income. Every regulation passed eats at your income. Every new program proposed eats at your income. We don't need higher wages - we need non-existent income taxation, or at the very least LESS taxation. We never get either - we ALWAYS get MORE taxation. It's killing our nation.....and it's our politicians doing it - NOT the citizens.

That's right. What gets me are the people who insist on arguing about liberal this or conservative that, as though labeling something changes anything. That's why nothing constructive gets done because everyone is trying to get credit or place blame. Anytime you get a group of people who really don't know anything, but pretend that they do, and let them run some stuff, disaster ensues.

The founding fathers made mistakes, everybody does, but the ability to admit to them has disappeared. The layers of bureaucracy in our Gov. is so complex, no one person or committee has any idea how it actually works. Each "boss" at each level jealously guard their authority, while hungrily looking at the next level.

The Dept. of Homeland Security was created to "fix" a failure of communication between intelligence agencies. We see how well that worked. Creating MORE bureaucracy has NEVER solved anything, only made it worse. Politicians just can't seem to do anything else. Writing laws so complex that not even THEY can understand them makes no sense, but after 300 people stick their fingers in it, that's what happens. We need fewer laws, simpler laws, less bureaucracy, and more private sector jobs. We cannot spend our way out of trouble.

It is on Business insider also. "If you adjust the chart to show how far the market advanced in each case in percentage terms, it looks much less scary.

But I watched the guys interview and he is correct that he is pointing out the anomalies in the chart and not the lesser value of the over all market then. Even he states that with the government and markwets ability to manipulate that a crash is unlikely at the same point. Like we all now though the fraudulent crutching up of the system is non sustainable when the rest of the world gets tired of our devaluation of the USD. Thus the problem in the emerging markets that didn't prepare for the inevitable inability for stimulus to continue to work.
