I agree but we did get a new website to laugh at! I haven't seen that one before.
This guy was right on target until he blamed Obama. The deficit started under Regan. President George H W Bush saw the problem and raised Taxes. Clinton handed little George a balanced budget, and thing went to hell from there. Hillary said Obama didn't have the balls for the job, and she was correct. I wonder if she does.

grace-if you listen carefully, he did not blame only Obama he blamed everybody in congress as well. The man is absolutely correct, the democrats have been buying votes for years and spending is totally out of control. Obama just added more to the debt in five years than Bush did in eight years. Both sides are to blame and it will take a republican controlled Senate along with the House to initiate spending curbs. The democrats will never cut spending because they have the option of raising taxes or printing dollars so why cut back. If the democrats were to gain total control of government you can forget about ever having a balanced budget the the debt will increase until it becomes unsustainable. There is absolutely no evidence anywhere that even suggests that achieving balance is part of the democrat thought process. Instead its, Tax, Spend, Print ad infinitum. Good Luck America !!!

The thought of a republican congress sends shivers up and down my spine. We need a republican (not a tea party)
president, and a democratic congress. Separation of power.

You of course have a valid point for many reasons. Why not 'Tea Party' ? Your concerns please.
The Tea Party has one good idea. Balance the budget. I strongly object to the way they want to do it. For instance, the farm bill. It was okay to pay farmers not to work (not to plant their land) but not okay to give food stamps to people who could not find a job. Abuse here? Of course, but they want to punish the many for the abuse of the few.
I'm too lazy to go back and check my sources for exact numbers, but when Eisenhower started the interstate highway system the top tax rate was about 70%. Kennedy put a man in space on about 60% (and he complained the rate was too high). We are about 40% now and can't even fix the pot holes.

Again, I agree with you. Valid point for certain.

grace-would not a republican congress and a democrat president achieve separation of powers ? Believe the country would be better served if one party controlled congress and the other party controlled the White House. To have one party in total control does not allow for any checks and balances and though it may be great for the party in power it is not good for the country as a whole. Good Luck America !!!

Under those tax rates, many more deductions were allowed than today, which lowered the overall rate. Currently we have the highest corporate tax rate in the world, one reason why corporations park so much money overseas. Raising taxes, just like Obozo has, and you get a stagnant economy, just like we have now. More taxes, less capital investment, more money is parked overseas, less new businesses are started, and the higher the unemployment. We just took in a record amount of tax revenue last year, around $2.77T and by your thinking, the economy should be booming. In fact middle class income is down annually over $6,000 under Obozo.
What we really need is a conservative Republican for a president, a Republican controlled Senate, and a Republican controlled House...with many more conservatives. Then, we'll turn this country back around and get our freedom back! We have already seen what the country looks like under an inept, incompetent, serial liar Marxist President, and we saw what happened when the Democrats controlled the Senate and House. In fact, Obozo had both the Senate and House for two years, and the economy kept going down the tubes. Democrats are incapable of turning the economy around, and the only jobs they know how to create are government jobs, which produce no wealth.
I was talking personal tax rates not corporate. The more I try to understand these, the more confused I get. Why do we tax businesses anyway? Oh yes, so tax lawyers and accountants have a job.
