You need to take two classes, one in economics and one in business. Then you will not need to ask dumb questions.

Thank you for the clarification, however, I was being kind in assuming you had eventually made it out of elementary school into Jr. High.

You folks think that paying ridiculously high premiums to private, for profit health INSURANCE corporations is the same as health CARE? LOL Health CARE and health INSURANCE are NOT the same thing.

80% of people going bankrupt due to health CARE costs have health INSURANCE. Right now the United States is the only industrialized wealthy nation that has a market-based health CARE system, and the ACA moved the US even further in that direction by requiring people who don't qualify for the public programs to purchase private health INSURANCE.

The US is already spending more than enough for a universal, comprehensive, high-quality health-care system. We spend two and a half times what the average OECD nation spends per person on health care. So we have the money for universal health CARE and we have the resources, and it's really just up to the people to demand the kind of health CARE system that we need.

Health CARE is 18 percent of our GDP and going up, and the deficit will not be solved for the long term without solving health CARE.

And it's not Medicare that's the problem. It's not Medicaid. The problem is that a big part of the system is the market-based system.
Paul Ryan, in his idiocy, pushing toward privatization of Medicare, why he thinks having a health INSURANCE company making profit off of elderly people in their health CARE is going to lower costs is just absurd. It makes no sense. But that's the mentality of Congress owned by and beholden to their benefactors- big health INSURANCE and big PHARMA corporations.

More and more people (even doctors) are looking at it through the prism of human rights. Health CARE is a human right. It's not a commodity. We don't want Wall Street health INSURANCE. We want a human right-based universal health CARE system.

And you think people under Obamacare, who can't afford the premiums or their deductible, have access to health care?

Did I say that? No I did not. The ACA did NOT make private, for profit health INSURANCE affordable. The poor get their medical CARE for free, paid for by the taxpayers that still have to pay for their own health CARE or health INSURANCE, which ever be the case, both of which are unaffordable, while the wealthy can afford the privilege of health CARE. So, is health CARE a right or a privilege? The poor get to treat it as a right and the wealthy get to treat it a a privilege. Those in the middle are fucked the way the system was before the ACA and still is after the ACA.
