And honestly I wrote this thread to look at hypocrisy not to say that Whoopi and Oprah are flawed because they're black, but that they are monumental hypocrites, and both of them are incredibly blind to their hypocrisy AND feel they have the moral high ground.

Actually I was referring to THEIR racist behavior and it doesn't matter what color their skin is even if THEY were WHITE I would use the same terminology! Wasn't trying to offend anyone!

Don, after the War of Northern Aggression a cotton picking machine was invented as well as the Cotton Gin which processed the cotton balls(separated the cotton fibres from the boll and seeds). It was a black man who invented both. While I know you know this along with a trove of folks here, I thought I'd mention it for those who don't. Our Education system ain't what it used to be.Mike

debeda, my family came here in the 1800's from Ireland. They at first didn't fair too well and most became cops. My Grandfather who carried my sister and I to school everyday worked as a Prison Guard at the State Prison in Auburn NY. He told me that he was as much of a prisoner except he was able to go home every night. In other words it wasn't much better for the guards than it was for the inmates. Mike

Yeah I think it was the same for most immigrants. I can remember in the 50s my grandfather going on about how he hated the "eyetalians" LOL
