Arch, the following is one that always tore up the troops when they were able to catch it on Armed Forces Radio, back in 'Nam, especially during the Christmas season after receiving no mail.

Thanks for starting this one. Not a leaner, so far.
I go across the spectrum. I find enjoyable music in all types.
In college and medical school and for years later, I would always have a classical station on very low in the background for studying.
Being raised in the 50s & coming of age in the 60s, I liked rock & roll which later became rock. I don't like twangy C&W.

At this time in my life:
Classical East Indian ( sitar and veena in particular)
Classical
Space ( a real category)
Rock
Vintage rock
I like lots of songs where I dislike the category in general. The categories I like have many songs that I dislike.

Primarily I prefer music that is not sung. Among the classical composers, I must say I lean toward the Russian Composers, Tsiakovsky, Shostakovich. Stravinsky After that comes Flamenco guitar with some cantaors (prefer the male voices). I also enjoy ethnic music from all countries. Took a while before I could appreciate the Arabic but now that's changed. I also enjoy marching band music. Can't watch a parade without the heart beating and tears rolling.
