I can remember when it was ESSO and in Texas, Humble Oil. AMACO was also around, as well as Studebaker, Nash, Hudson ( I still have the auto clock from my uncle's '32 Hudson) and after WW II, the Kaiser-Frazier cars. Gasoline sold for 18 cents/gal...Sunoco was cheaper. I used to ride the streetcars to high school. I learned to drive on a '48 DeSoto w/ it's fluid drive transmission. Hell, I can recall attending the NY World's Fair in 1940!
Enough already!
In my car shed we have a 1959 Imperial Crown. This was before Chrysler bought Imperial. It has the 413. Unpainted stainless steel top and skirts. Chrome dash. Pushbutton automatic. My granddad bought it new. Runs good but needs some work...mostly cosmetic stuff.
