Israel once provided the US with a huge service, on-the-ground intel assets in the Soviet Union. We only learned of what was going on in Moscow back in the 1950s due to Russian Jews working for Mossad.
That job is long gone and Israel only further hampers efforts for an even foreign policy in the Middle East by amassing a huge nuclear arsenal to which it will not submit to any treaty or inspection or even admit to it's well known existence. And it's continued expansion on the West Bank in violation of US and international law.
But Israel is still there for it's $3+ billion every year., 25% of all US foreign aid, despite aid stipulations about limiting West Bank Settlements, which Israel routinely ignores. .
And we are continually told by the far right Christian fundamentalists that US support for Israel is "blessed." A sleigh ride to the Second Coming.
Except religious doctrine has no place in US foreign policy.
You can testify to that as what? A US citizen. looking out for the best interests of the US or as a religious fanatic using government policy to advance a religious belief?

Hey, Hungry, can you tell me as much as you know about the creation of Israel in 1947 or 8? It might be very interesting to see what you know about that. I well remember a lot about it since I was a sophomore or junior in high school when it all came about and paid a lot of attention to it. I really looked it up once the movie about them moving to their promised land. I would be very interested to see what one so erudite as you has learned about that situation.
Now don't tell me what progressives say unless you recognize that they are trying to rewrite history about that period, but surely do tell me.
