Well I'm embarrassed that I voted for Republicans so long I had been persuaded by Sen Barry Goldwater from reading his syndicated column in my local news paper to switch to the Republican party. In those days that party still had Republicans in the mold of Abe Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Gov Hiram Johnson of California, Sen Robet La Follete of Wisconsin, Gov Earl Warren of California, Governor Harold Stassen of Minnesota, Senator Jacob K. Javits of New York, Governor William Scranton of Pennsylvania and Governor George W. Romney of Michigan. The most notable of them all was Governor Nelson A. Rockefeller of New York. They generally advocated a free-market, but with some level of regulation. Rockefeller required employable welfare recipients to take available jobs or job training. There people such as these good men in that party. The party had been taken over by the far right 20 years ago or more

The Republican Party was taken over by the Elitist globalists. They almost killed the party.
Trump beat them. No one else could or would have.

Reagan didn't assassinate any one until he became president. Reactionary conservatives had those people assassinated World War II was the "good war". After that conflict, most Americans believed that US intentions in the world were noble -- the US was the punisher of aggression and a warrior for freedom. This image was for generations of Americans the measure by which they judged their country in world affairs. The war in Vietnam ended the illusion that America was always on the "right side". Today, America's image as a defender of democracy and justice has been further eroded by the School of the Americas (SOA), which trains Latin American and Caribbean military officers and soldiers to subvert democracy and kill hope in their own countries.

Founded by the United States in 1946, the SOA was initially located in Panama, but in 1984 it was kicked out under the terms of the Panama Canal Treaty and moved to the army base at Fort Benning, Georgia. Then-President of Panama Jorge Illueca called it "the biggest base for de-stabilization in Latin America," and a major Panamanian newspaper dubbed it " The School of Assassins."

Today, SOA instructors and students are recruited from the cream of the Latin American military establishment. The School trains 700-2,000 soldiers a year, and since its inception in 1946, more than 60,000 military personnel have graduated from the SOA.The School of the Americas (SOA) has been given other names -- "School for Dictators", "School of Assassins", and "Nursery of Death Squads". And, countries with the worst human rights records send the most soldiers to the School. When they return to their home countries, graduates of the SOA hold a rather unique and peculiar view of their countrymen. They look upon priests, social workers, journalists, and liberal intellectuals, not as assets to their societies, but as dangerous subversives, working to undermine the system that keeps these soldiers, army officers, and their sponsors in power.

Graduates of the SOA have been among the most repressive tyrants in Latin America, and their actions have been some of the most cruel and violent. In El Salvador, in 1989, a Salvadoran army patrol executed six Jesuit priests as they lay face-down on the ground at Central America University. According to the United Nation's Truth Commission Report on El Salvador in 1993, 19 of the 27 officers who took part in the executions were trained at the SOA.

In 1990, in El Salvador, populist Archbishop Oscar Romero was assassinated. Three-quarters of the Salvadoran officers implicated in the killing were trained at the SOA. Roberto D'Aubuison, the late leader of El Salvador's Death Squad, was implicated in the plot to assassinate Archbishop Romero. He also participated in numerous murders, including a massacre in the village of El Mazote, where more than 900 men, women, and children were killed. He graduated from SOA as well.

I need to keep getting the truth out. The once great political party has moved so far right it has fallen off the cliff and no longer has the big tent they once claimed to have it has become a narrow regressive reactionary party and the pendulum will swing back. I see signs of it among the millennials and the demographics at against that party. It's a matter of education that reduces ignorance

This is the absolute truth but I can understand it is hard to face reality. These things ordinary Americans aren't aware of or even care about they are busy living their lives in apathy only a small percentage are curious enough to be concerned about these things that's why it is so easy for these animals to get away with this stuff when nobody's paying attention

Nikki: Your missing the big point! Liberals now collectively, as a group, tend to prove that they value style over substance, celebrity over principal, and victimization over self reliance! It's this mental illness on the left that has a tidal wave of Conservatism sweeping clean the American landscape of Sodom & Gomorrah attitude!....I don't think you have the ability to swim!

What planet are living on!?

The Democratic Party has lost more than 1100 government seats since Obama was elected in 2008. The Democratic Party is in shambles, just ask Donna Brazile and Lizzy Warren, the rats are abandoning the ship. Everything you have said is either revisionist history and/or flat out nonsense. You have no€™t a clue what is going on around you, and everybody is laughing at you, not with you.

Its true the Democratic party has lost its way. Where it was the reform party and the party of working people the party by the 1970's wanted to get away from the Legacy of the FDR New Deal and pursue its share of the tsunami of cash that came flooding in to our politics as the economic elite decided they had had enough of sharing the nations productive wealth with workers most of it was going to the Republicans and thy could not have that. In the process it was a loosing battle trying to be like Republicans but I see that changing the Republicans are on top for now but the pendulum always swings both ways and it will swing its not a matter of if but when. It swung left around the turn of the 20th century when reforms generated anti trust laws food safety laws and child labor laws and again when capitalism collapsed In 1929 in a debt collapse. The debt house of cards is far greater today than it was then and is poised to collapse the 2008 collapse was just a harbinger of the biggee to come

I'm fully aware but with all bubbles they reach their greatest extent before they burs Fully half of the millennial generation would prefer living In a socialist society rather than a capitalist. They have come to realize that the American Dream is just a dream and they aren't in it. The demographics are against the conservatives and the trend toward catastrophy favors a bursting of your bubble. Democracy and capitalism have forever been at war. Some times democracy surges when things get bad enough then capitalism surges as it has for the last 40 years but the longer that surge continues the closer to the resurgence of democracy

We will see who corked who. Mike Flynn and his son are headed for prison and Wilber Ross has been serving as Der Schtrumpski's Sec of Commerce while profiting off of a company closely associated with the Vladimir Putin family so I have been predicting Ross will be the next to fall as the special counsel works his way to the big orange pumpkin
