You are correct. There is a difference. NFL players are paid to.entertain.
They are paid to win games. Whether that's entertaining or not is up to the fans.

The POTUS is paid to lead.
The POTUS is only paid to lead the Executive Branch. He is not paid to tell private industry what to do.
Docadhoc wrote:
NFL players are on the field to do their job, not to voice political or any other opinion.
They are NOT voicing their political opinions on the field. When they are on the field they do their jobs according to their contracts. All of their protesting is done off the field or during the 2 minutes while the anthem plays, which they have a constitutional right to do AND permission from their employers. They do not need permission from the president OR from you.
Secondly, these are not just athletes... they are also citizens and as much as you wish they were slaves, you can't treat them like slaves by restricting everything they do to only what their purpose is. Anyone has a right in this country to voice their opinions... it doesn't HAVE to be their purpose.

The POTUS is paid to.m voice his opinion regardless of his location
No, he isn't. As chief executive he is paid to develop federal policy, prepare national budgets, appoint federal officers and enforce federal law. As Commander-In-Chief he commands the armed services. There is no law that says the president is paid to voice his opinions.

You vote for a candidate based on their publicly articulated opinions. Then you say that candidate once elected is supposed to keep his opinions silent.
I didn't say he has to keep his opinions silent, I said he has to put them aside. There's a difference.

fake news. *yawn*

If you believe the president is not allowed to voice his opinion then you are denying him the same 1st amendment right that you say the nfl people have. Don't you.be a moron.
I never said the president is not allowed to voice his opinion. I am saying he shouldn't let his personal opinions get in the way of his job, which is exactly what Donny Dumbass is doing. He swore an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution and he has made it very clear that his personal opinion is that people should get fired for exercising their 1st Amendment rights. That's a conflict of interest.
Docadhoc wrote:
If you think nfl players have the right to display their opinion during game time which is only about a 3 hour per week time slot, and do it.on the field in front of TV cameras on coast to coast coverage, then the president who is on duty 24/7 and takes.his work with him wherever he goes, has at least the same rights.
What seems to be going right over your noodle is the nature of the opinions themselves. The athletes are expressing a concern about racial profiling and police brutality and they have every right to express this concern. Donny Dumbass can express the same concern if he wants but he doesn't, instead HIS opinion is that the athletes should be fired for exercising their rights as citizens and there is actually a law that says he can't do that. So the athletes are within their rights, Donny dumbfuck is not.
So... pull you head out of your ass.

You may not like what he said or how he said it but he has the same right to.publicly state his opinion as you at anyone else.
Not if the opinion is a violation of the constitution he swore to uphold.

You.need to pay attention. No one said they don't have the right to protest. Don't add liar to your list of flaws.
Oh, you didn't hear Donny John telling the league to fire any athlete that takes a knee during the anthem? Did you really miss that part?
Docadhoc wrote:
What is being said is that they should not do it on field during game time.
Is that too difficult for you to grasp?
Oh, I understand... I just don't agree. Besides the anthem isn't played during game time, it's played BEFORE game time. If you ever watched a football game you would know that.

Oh, you mean don't look at statistics that YOU don't approve of... Got it.
You really are an ass.
This is NOT a complicated issue and I've already made my points. These are the facts as I know them.
1. The athletes in question are protesting police brutality and racial profiling through non-violent gestures like taking a knee during the playing of the National Anthem.
2. These athletes have a constitutional right to protest like this AND they have the permission of their employers.
3. Trump told the NFL they should fire or suspend these athletes for protesting in this manner, which is a violation of the 1st Amendment and therefore a direct violation of his oath.
I'm not going to spend time playing loopty-loo with you. Either prove these three facts to be false or don't expect me to respond.
