Never before has a president divided himself from national sports like this. In any given country, political leadership has always sought a sense of solidarity with their people through national sports, the U.S. being no exception. This is why national champions traditionally get invited to the White House. But not this time... Donny has already uninvited the NBA Champions because Steph Curry replied "No thanks". Had Donny just accepted that, the disconnect would have all been on Curry, but instead the doofus acted like a child and he actually uninvited the entire team.

And now, he's telling the NFL to fire any player who takes a knee or shows any sign of protest during the anthem. Did someone forget to teach the idiot that in America people have a constitutional right to express their discontent? And not just in private letters or quiet conversations but openly in public spaces, which is where civil protest is most effective. The playing of the National Anthem right before kick off is in fact the most appropriate place for athletes to voice their stance and taking a knee, or linking arms is the most respectful way of doing it. It's non-violent and it's non-obstructive and when the anthem is finished, they get back to their jobs.

Also, someone needs to teach Donny John that the NFL is a private organization and as such he has ZERO authority over it. None of the national leagues are under his command. Someone PLEASE let him know because he obviously thinks otherwise. The POTUS commands the Executive Branch of the Federal Government... That's it. He is not MY boss and unless you work for the federal government he isn't yours either. In fact he is technically a public servant. The only thing that makes a president look bigger than this is the respect the American people have for the office. But when a fat clown like Donny John makes it impossible to respect him, we are left with an unruly fat-ass that can be technically described as our bitch.

That being said... I'm going to wrap this up on a positive note... I salute the NFL and their remarkable composure during this bizarre spectacle in national politics. I will be attending several games this year and I will be joining them in exercising my 1st Amendment right by sitting out the National Anthem. I will do it quietly and respectfully, simply to show my solidarity with those who stand up to racial profiling and police brutality. But I will also be looking at the flag and inside my heart will be singing because THIS ability to express myself is one of the things that truly makes America great.

That's because as the tumor progressively consumes more and more of his brain matter he keeps moving further to the left. That's cause and effect.

Last night in Alabama, deep in the midst of what was once slave country, President Trump criticized NFL players more intensely and aggressively than he’s ever been toward white supremacists or the Russians. He spoke of the players as “those people” and the football audience as “people like yourselves,” thus speaking in language that once again made it clear that his vision of America includes white people and does not include Blacks. And he spoke with an anger that revealed that the players have gotten deep under his skin by kneeling for the anthem to protest police violence. But why has this gotten so far under that orangey epidermis?
Trump said players who kneel for the anthem—to protest police violence—are “sons of bitches.” He said their actions are “a total disrespect of our heritage,” as if football is more a part of “our heritage” than protest against government, which is at the heart of Americanness.
On Saturday, Trump continued the diatribe against Black athletes, withdrawing an invitation to basketball player Stephen Curry to visit the White House with his championship team and declaring that any football player who kneels during the national anthem should be fired.

Surely, our American heritage includes Dr. Martin Luther King, whose non-violent protests are echoed in the NFL’s silent protests. But whenever Trump speaks of our heritage he’s always speaking of a specific strain of American history, never the totality. He means Robert E. Lee, not Harriet Tubman. Trump said, “Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a bitch off the field right now, he’s fired?’” He said fans should “leave the stadium” when even one player kneels in protest. At no point did he ever suggest that the players are citizens who have the right to protest. He took an oath to protect those citizens, but yesterday he put them in danger. At no point did he even address what they were protesting which is police violence. Did I mention that? Sorry, the issue always gets lost so quickly as if this is about the flag or the military. It’s not. It’s about police violence against Black people.
Trump seemed indignant that these Americans had the nerve to kneel—repeating the dodge that this is about the flag and the military rather than about, you know, police violence. The racial dynamics of what he said were clear—almost all of the protesting players are Black. All of the owners are white. Most of the fans who attend games are white. He’s telling white owners and fans to show those Black players who’s boss. Spoken in the heart of what was once slave country, he sure sounded like one massa telling the others to get their slaves in line.

Try this one on for size.

“My father always told me that all business men were sons-of-bitches but I never believed it till now!”
John F. Kennedy
Source/Notes:
As quoted in: New York Times, 23 April 1962.

Pres. Kennedy said that as a result of a coal or steel strike. His father should have known just what kinds of sons-of-bitches business men were because he was one of the biggest sons-of-bitches to ever trod the planet. Ruthless doesn’t even begin to describe him.

Pres. Harry Truman said, “I’ll fire the son-of-a-bitch (it could have been bastard),” meaning Gen. Douglas MacArthur.

Yet somehow, Pres. Donald J. Trump is pilloried for calling football players
sons-of-bitches.” Oh that’s right. Democrat Kennedy was talking about businessmen & Democrat Truman was in an encounter with a general and all of both are evil.

Has anybody bothered to consider this? Just about every professional team plays in a venue that was, at least partly, built with public (i.e. taxpayer’s) money and the team’s management was given tax incentives to locate or stay where they are. Without those venues and incentives, those players would likely be making a lot less money.

They are subject to public comment because of it.

You obviously are allowing your hate for the president to over ride your common sense.

Presidents come and go, but not our nation. When you or anyone else fail, and I mean FAIL, to honor our flag and/or anthem you are not dishonoring the president. You are dishonoring our nation and all whoever served her.

Yes, you have the right to do so. That fact alone is the very concept that separates us from all other nations and is the very concept you dishonor with these despicable anti American actions.

If you are so petty as to dishonor all those who have served, and the very nation that so many have given their lives to protect, perhaps you should consider relocating to where you feel your allegiance lay.

Don't come back with some nonsense trying to justify these people and your actions. This is not about politics. This is about people making exceptional wealth by playing a game, dishonoring the nation that gives them the opportunity to make multiple times what they could make anywhere else.

You as well as the other like minded people are showing your shallowness and willingness to place politics ahead of all else.

By doing so you dishonor yourself.

You disgust me, as will your mindless retort attempting to justify that for which there is no justification.

Interesting take.
Dont rember Trump saying only Black players should be fired, must have missed that part.

As far as I'm concerned whatever color they are, they can stay on they're knees to political correctness if they choose.

Now nobody is saying they can't protest, but how about doing it off the clock, like everyone else.

Shame though, football was my favorite circus distraction from the day to day BS.
Guess there is always ice hockey.

Of course double standards are the only way an irrational racist movement can survive a democracy.

I think it's worth drawing the distinction between conservatives and the alt-right, however. Conservatives range from opposing Trump to barely tolerating him... The people that cheer every prejudiced, ignorant thing Tramp says are a whole different category and since they have their heads shoved up the ass of their own imaginary media they don't realize what a small minority they are.

Of course, we will tolerate them because it's a free country. We won't shut them down the way they want to shut us down. But we aren't going to roll over either... we will continue to defend the constitution. The NFL will get solidarity on this and Tramp will find something else to distract our attention from his uselessness.

The specific rule pertaining to the national anthem is found on pages A62-63 of the National Football League rulebook. It states:

“The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem.

“During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.”

They are NOT voicing their political opinions on the field. When they are on the field they do their jobs according to their contracts. All of their protesting is done off the field or during the 2 minutes while the anthem plays, which they have a constitutional right to do AND permission from their employers. They do not need permission from the president OR from you.

Secondly, these are not just athletes... they are also citizens and as much as you wish they were slaves, you can't treat them like slaves by restricting everything they do to only what their purpose is. Anyone has a right in this country to voice their opinions... it doesn't HAVE to be their purpose.

Docadhoc wrote:

No, he isn't. As chief executive he is paid to develop federal policy, prepare national budgets, appoint federal officers and enforce federal law. As Commander-In-Chief he commands the armed services. There is no law that says the president is paid to voice his opinions.

Docadhoc wrote:

I never said the president is not allowed to voice his opinion. I am saying he shouldn't let his personal opinions get in the way of his job, which is exactly what Donny Dumbass is doing. He swore an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution and he has made it very clear that his personal opinion is that people should get fired for exercising their 1st Amendment rights. That's a conflict of interest.

Docadhoc wrote:

If you think nfl players have the right to display their opinion during game time which is only about a 3 hour per week time slot, and do it.on the field in front of TV cameras on coast to coast coverage, then the president who is on duty 24/7 and takes.his work with him wherever he goes, has at least the same rights.

What seems to be going right over your noodle is the nature of the opinions themselves. The athletes are expressing a concern about racial profiling and police brutality and they have every right to express this concern. Donny Dumbass can express the same concern if he wants but he doesn't, instead HIS opinion is that the athletes should be fired for exercising their rights as citizens and there is actually a law that says he can't do that. So the athletes are within their rights, Donny dumbfuck is not.

So... pull you head out of your ass.

This is NOT a complicated issue and I've already made my points. These are the facts as I know them.

1. The athletes in question are protesting police brutality and racial profiling through non-violent gestures like taking a knee during the playing of the National Anthem.
2. These athletes have a constitutional right to protest like this AND they have the permission of their employers.
3. Trump told the NFL they should fire or suspend these athletes for protesting in this manner, which is a violation of the 1st Amendment and therefore a direct violation of his oath.

I'm not going to spend time playing loopty-loo with you. Either prove these three facts to be false or don't expect me to respond.

AMERICA - Well Well Well look what we found.........
Be Sure to share this over and over.
Can NFL players actually be fired for disrespecting the National Anthem at the beginning of games? Well, according to the official NFL rule, stated on pages A62-63 of the NFL rule book, the answer is yes. And the NFL can do a whole heck of a lot more to penalize the team of the offender.
Here’s how the rule reads:
So, it would appear that President Trump, just like with his stance on immigration, isn’t calling for any new rules to be levied. He’s simply asking people at the top to bone up and enforce the existing rules that already stand.
Do you think NFL players who kneel, or who don’t even come onto the field during the playing of the National Anthem should be fired? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

I think Trump was just using his "Art of the Deal" philosophy. Walk away!

I say Trump's comments had NOTHING to do with race. The left just looks to stick that race-card whenever they can!
