I resent your statement. When I first joined this forum it was obvious that all the name-calling, the play on the President's name and negativity came from the anti-Liberal faction, or should I substitute anti-Obama. When one is reduced to name-calling, using what they imagine is clever plays on words or names (I don't think I have to refer you to them) then they are fleeing from or unable to think clearly. These are the extremists who function primarily on emotions.
Initially this forum began with an intelligent exchange of ideas including some humor. Now look what's happened. There are those who are looking to begin another civil war by using their guns, etc. I'm sure you've read most of the entries submitted and you must be in agreement with me. This can and has become, for the most part, the new flavor of this forum. This can become communicable. I've found that a couple of times even I slipped into this unacceptable atmosphere (but only abut twice). It has reduced the quality of this forum. You can be assured that it will not recur in my submissions. You must also realize that extremism goes both ways and the name calling, or what is considered wit by some, is always from the same direction.

Hey, teaching is a tough job, but this one should learn a few lessons.
a-in castigating the president for pay raises the House voted for itself should be reminded that the House controls the purse strings. And last time I check, the House was in GOP hands.
b-The president has been criticized for not toadying to Saudi Arabia enough. Now he's being castigated for bowing to some member of the House of Saud? Look at US foreign policy for the last 50 years and tell me if this president is bowing unduly to the Saudi Feudal kingdom. the Saudis have been pulling our strings long enough and should learn to stand on their own, which this president, the first in a long time, is apparently doing.
c-I don't recall President Obama "apologizing" to anyone for anything the US has done, unless its been sending in a drone strike on civilians. He may have said the US may not always been right, but apologizing? I'd like to see the context.
d-The word God is not mention once in our Constitution.That the Constitution includes some of the Christian precepts of some of our Founding Fathers is true. But also the undue influence of the church of England also had it's influence on the Founding Fathers, leading them to keep religion and the government at arms length from each other. .WE ARE NOT A CHRISTIAN NATION-that's why there is no mention of God, Jesus or anything remotely referring to the Bible in the Constitution.
e-WE ARE NOT A CHRISTIAN NATION-again in case you didn't see if the first time. A nation with a population that predominately claims to be Christian, yes. And our Founding Fathers intended it to be a non-relgious-of any religion-state for reasons stated above. SHOW ME WHERE IN THE CONSTITUTION THAT IT STATES THE UNITED STATES IS A CHRISTIAN NATION-it doesn't. Plain and simple. You can extrapolate views of each Founding Father, find writings that MAY indicate otherwise, but look at the document. No matter how you look at it, the Constitution is a secular document organizing a secular government that doesn't get in the way of it's citizens to worship whatever they want in any way they want.
Had this teacher sent this letter as an individual, I'd say here firing would be unfounded. But she sent it and signed it as a representative of her school-and she should be fired for taking upon herself the right to call the president and other officials names and acting like she's a representative of her school.
I'm getting mighty sick of these self-righteous Pharisees like this teacher speaking from on high about how, in five short years, one man has destroyed the United States, spreading lie (telling the Europeans we are arrogant) upon lie (apologizing for the United States) upon lie (telling Europeans we don't care for their status in the world.)
Fact-the stock market has more than doubled in the past five years.
Fact-corporate profits are at an all-time high, both in amount and percentage of increase, on an average, with any of the stock exchanges.
Fact-the annual budget deficits have decreased by half since 2009.
And some have the gall to call this president a communist. Where do they get this bullshit? From fox "news" most likely, and a spat of other rumor mongers on the Internet.

Poll after poll after poll has shown that those who listen to fox "news' are the least informed about the facts of what is happening in the world. It is an attempt by a small group of businessmen to spread their particular set of views and spread them as "facts" to gullible people who are deathly afraid of what the future holds and of their loss of status of "The Chosen Few." Problem is that they never were "The Chosen Few" and that they are being manipulated by those who really do pull the strings in our current multi-national corporation oligarchy.
