Your point? Bottom line is the slaves were freed. That's the bottom line. If anything the slaves were grateful to be liberated, but for some, they weren't. they were always taken care of, as far as meals, housing etc. they wondered how they were going to survive after being freed; but they all persevered, they survived.
Now, you might want to look at the political view, the parties involved, who they were and what they did. It doesn't make any difference what and who they are now, because they've morphed into an evil presence, the presence of deceit, power, felonious attributes.

The only penalty from the ten commandments was the law of God which was to not be allowed to enter heaven when you died, didn't mention incarceration or the death penalty. The ten commandments was/is a state of good consciousness to do the right thing.
