I have friends there, one living in Key West.. She told me she left her home late Wednesday and by yesterday had only reached Gainesville because of the traffic and number of gas stations out of gas.. She watched gas trucks passing under escort of the National Guard and worried she wouldn't find gas...

I hope she finally got into Ga hoping to have better results in traffic and gas availability..
Is we see there may be a different path but with the size of this monster the whole state will get it in some capacity..

I just pray they get out of there and are safe!!!

As for the leftist well you know, never let a great story go to waste when claiming climate change....

Lets be a little more realistic, a campaign speech, really, shall we comb through all the candidate's of past presidents on champagne speeches, as Bush's historic"read my lips... no new taxes". I'm not taking the time to research each little champagne promise that didn't happen, my God man.

How many of those things did he try to do? He, like Trump, had high aspirations but ounce in the house had to come to terms to the reality and how the games are really played.

The key in my mind is not the president but it is our representatives, they are the true engine for change, and as someone had posted where I was researching, it matters little after the bill is passed, let's get it up before it is passed to have a true dialog with the people, now that would be something...but would they listen or ignore us?

I also think posted records of promises not met from their previous terms be published before their reelection, that of course would be the responsibility of someone to collect that information in each district, something we can pass forward and spread the word. Our representatives are either our strongest links or weakest for our governing the way we wish it to be.

I welcome any civilized non-insulting dialog.

Well I admit that my posting was campaign rhetoric, however lets us get into specifics. I intensely dislike generalizations, which seem to be what we on OPP like to get into. So how about President Obama's talk about banning Lobbyists from his Administration. He cannot blame that one on Congress. My boy Donald can blame his unbuilt wall on them.

Anyway Obama had total control over whether he kept his campaign promises not to hire lobbyists. I can find numerous articles where President Obama violated his own lobbyist rule. I have intentionally picked one from an Obama friendly source.

Mary Glackin from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration welcomed the vindication of her organisation by investigators
An investigation into leaked climate change emails which campaigners claim showed scientists had made altered data, has found there is no evidence of wrongdoing.
The Commerce Department investigation is the latest to exonerate the scientists whose communications with the Climate Research Unit at England's University of East Anglia were stolen and made public in 2009.
The department reviewed all 1,073 leaked e-mails, but focused on 289 that involved National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration scientists.
Mary Glackin, NOAA's deputy undersecretary for operations, said she welcomed the report since ‘none of the investigations have found any evidence to question the ethics of our scientists or raise doubts about NOAA's understanding of climate change science.’

Climate change sceptics have said the emails show scientists failed to follow proper procedures or altered data.
But investigations by the National Research Council and Pennsylvania State University, in addition to UK inquiries have also concluded that there was no indication of scientific impropriety.
The new report did question the handling of some freedom of information requests by NOAA and asked the agency to review the circumstances under which funds were transferred to the British researchers.

Glackin said the money was used for workshops that assisted the governments of Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam in improving their climate forecasting work.
Climate change, also referred to as global warming, has raised concerns in recent decades as data continue to show an increase in average temperatures around the world.
Climate experts are concerned that continued warming could affect agriculture and the environment, spread diseases and cause other disruptions in society.
The vast majority of atmospheric scientists attribute the change to gases released into the air by human activities such as industry and internal combustion engines.
