He did more than give aid and comfort to a domestic enemy, he led an army against the American flag, and was responsible for thousands of deaths of American servicemen. Tearing down Lee's statue isn't erasing US history, it's correcting it. The only place confederate icons like Lee should be seen, is in history books, calendars and maybe Civil War battlefields.
