The "Pursuit of Happiness" is simply the right to make your own decisions as to what will make you and your life happy, instead of another person, or a government, deciding for you what will make you and your life happy, then forcing you to accept their decision over that of your own, it's just that simple.

The 'Declaration of Independence' made it clear to the King of England, the English Parliament, all English citizens, the world, and all mankind, what Rights mankind have, that were unalienably endowed on them by their Creator (GOD). All other perceived Rights are just made up and given by the state.

To a sane person, healthcare is not a right, but a responsibility, which many have ignored, then when suffering the consequences later in their life, they expect others to help provide the cost to correct their fault of ignoring their responsibility during their early years.

Why does the government want everyone to purchase healthcare, for which many don't want or have a need for, so those who do want it and need it can

purchase it cheaper (the Obamacre great proven lie), otherwise why don't just the people who want it and need it, purchase it, and allow the other people who don't want it or need it, to go their own way and do whatever will bring them happiness?

A people that can be forced to purchase something that they don't want or need, are not really a free people, and need to expect another mandate that will also force them to do something that they don't want or need.

I have good friends who think healthcare is a right, it is not. Taking care of your own health is a right. Health insurance is something we need in times of illness, because we can go broke with the healthcare bill. Free healthcare is unwise, it will break the country. Too many take advantage of freebies. The addicts I dealt with do not work, are on medicaid, section 8 housing, food stamps and they are into crime also to feed the habit. It is frequent flyers club, not a hospital. I do not work there anymore, it is unsafe as they demand more and more.

I work in Assisted Living now which is very expensive. I see people run out of money, most give up their homes to get in there and make deals with local government agencies who kick in aid when their money runs out. I think deals were set up from beginning. You sign over all your assets, everything, They expect a minimum of $300,000. They get your money one way or another, but if you are poor, they take care of you. Not in a fancy place like assisted living, but somewhere. Is it better to have nothing? That depends on what state you live in too.

I am rambling today, who knows the answers, I don't. I trust more and more in God everyday. I think each person has their own interpretation of God and what he expects from being on this site and reading responses, which are all different. A lot of very smart people here and all of us can learn something from one another.

For 232 years the USA didn't have this problem, because we were an independent and sef-reliant people, and proud of it, who accepted our responsibilities and worked hard to meet and solve them. But teaching people to be dependent on the government has destroyed not only our country, through bankruptcy for these policies of depending on the government to provide you a free living, but also the people and their pride. It's going to be hard to get back to the good times when everyone knew it was their responsiblity to take care of themselves and their families, but the suffering needs to be accepted and endured to reach that point again. Obama and the Democrats have destroyed this country, now President Trump is trying to bring it back, without the help of many in his own political party, and because of that may not be successful, even though he works super-humanly to fulfill his campaign promises, with very little help from his own political party, and much organized resistance and complete obstructionism from the Democrats and the liberal biased mainstream media.

Exactly, democrats are doing this to break the system down and usher in a wefare totalitarian state. Income re-distribution is part of the plan. They are a Marxist/socialist party now. They hate capitalism, free trade, our Constitution written by Founding Fathers. Barack Hussein Obama is their model of a leader, he promised to TRANSFORM AMERICA. Did anyone know at time what he meant? No, it took 1st term, then whites, educated blacks, Hispanics, Latinos with businesses and Orientals to flee .... it was more of a white flite. I work with Orientals who do not like democrats ideas at all. Democrats hate America and despise Trump who is trying to undo the catastrophe of obamas term. GOP should be embarrassed with their weak votes, get rid of the obvious traitors.

Randy, I should have known you are German descent. I once worked for Germans at Logan Airport, brilliant business people, I visited Germany too. My dad had German lineage, he was smart. My best friends are from Bavaria (Southern Germany) and Austria. I go to ALL the German Club parties here and Austrian Society dinners/events and Goethe Institute as well.
