Humility vs. Humility of Spirit
What do you all think is the difference? Wikipedia's exegesis of "Humility" seems more related to vanity, and doesn't even mention "Humility of spirit."
So, what are your thoughts and/or comments, if in fact you have any?
[[In the meantime, I'll give you an account I had recently with a black pastor wearing a T-shirt that said: "Only God can judge you". I related to him that I had had a run-in with a couple of young men, who after I called them on their rudeness and inconsideration, looked me in the face and said: "You can't judge me!"
To which I replied: "Only God can judge a soul; but I can, AND I WILL, judge behavior, and YOURS stinks!"
The message these spoiled kids are getting, Pastor, is they can do anything they want and get away with it, for who, after all, is allowed to judge? I suggest you readjust your ministry.]]
Kudos for standing up for decency. i can not believe the language and rudeness I here coming from the mouths of the younger generation. Of course we judge. It should be behavior. the soul belongs to God. We only rent it. You are spot on.

Thanks, JF. It is true; only God knows what is inside you, why you do the things you do. Humans can only observe actions: as Jesus said: "By their fruits will you know them."
I also told him, as an example of how I can, and will, (and why) judge behavior, that I don't want my daughters hanging around with potheads.

Honestly, Mattie, Carol, Kira, Hedgehog, how do you expect anyone to believe a word you say when you go by four different names? Now you've used two of them on the same thread. WTF? Are you psycho, or what?
I didn't even notice. She should hook up with glaucon. They could have a kid with twenty personalities.

Humility and judgment are apples and oranges. What's the difference between humbleness and humility? The Bible tells us to humble ourselves before the Lord, but mentions nothing about humility. "Humility of spirit" is word salad, meaning nothing in particular. Humility describes recognizing one's perceived status in the world, humbleness describes recognizing that we have none at all. For ALL have sinned and come short of the Glory of the Lord..........which leaves no room for humility, or judgment.

This is what "humility of spirit" is: The knowledge that one (yourself) is no worse than anyone else, nor is he (you) better than anyone else.
But I may read the Wikipedia article on "Humility" just to discover what it means to religious people. I may or may not let you know.

Oh, by the way, if you remember, I've already "unleashed my arsenal of feminine wiles" on glaucon. It didn't work. It didn't turn him into a conservative. It didn't even turn him into a pumpkin.

That's easy. BTW.............how much are they paying you? I ask, because I could use some extra unreported cash too.

Who's paying me?
Anyway, when I said "guys" I wasn't including you in that classification.

Of course not, because you know I'm way more intelligent than you are............so it's no contest. You're certainly welcome to keep trying though, it's very amusing.

Boy, are you one cockeyed SOB. Probably spaced out on good works, like all the other Libbies.

Being perfect as I am, I have little need for humility, but I too, will judge behavior; both republican and democratic, liberal and conservative, left or right. The behavior of our "leaders" is becoming quite suspect.
