You are wrong. Silencing him is wrong. Let him speak. Especially now. The worst time for a former President to speak is right after he leaves office. His words do not help his cause and they harden the people against him. People are sick of him. 10 or 20 years from now his words will carry a little more weight. For now, the more he talks the more he harms his own side. There is a reason most former Presidents keep their mouths shut. Nobody really cares what they think, not for a very long time until they become elder statesmen.
Even the idiots who adore him do not care because he is done. He will not ever be President again. If he wanted to polish his image he would be out doing good works. That ain't happening because there is no money in it. Unless he finds a way to make charity pay like the Arkansas White Trash did with Haiti.
