This was on my mind today, due to another thread called "walmart hates me" Well this is not funny, I really hate Walmart.
I'm a capitalist, not a snob, but I hate going there, it represents much of what is wrong with America. How does a bunch
of junk become better just because there's alot of it. I mean I won't buy socks there, as all the clothes are pretty much disposable.
The food is of questionable origen and freshness. The "value packs" are of quantities that only an overeater could love and
a stroll or should I say , trying to sqeeze through the aisles is dangerous as whole overfed foodstamp families may crush you.
On top of that they never have enough registers open and the few harried employees are unble to help. It is a giant stuffmart
made to satisfy a compulsion to have, more, more, more. And it all ends up in the trash. Anyone here love Walmart?
Then there is the fact that all the good local shops can't compeat and are gone. And the bathrooms are gross.
This was on my mind today, due to another thread c... (show quote)

Walmart is the scourge on the land and people need to stop buying from them. Just got back from Scotland, not a Walmart or chain in sight, life was grand, people not going to Walmart in their PJ's, dressed respectfully while in public, there was a dignity and pride felt all around, what has happened to us? Geeeez, I'm sorry to say our quality of life is not the best folks. What ever happens to us... it's always our own damn fault.

I've already stated my opinion on WalMart hates me. It is unAmerican. No, I don't.

And your post was hysterical, it just got me thinking about how we much I hate
the store. We live in the beautiful Adirondacks, our Walmart is in Plattsburg about 40 minutes away. As a result of it being there we have lost so many nice businesses. Even that far away it has altered the character of the place.

I one time though that I had been told that Walmart started as a Christian company and only sold American made products but after looking on the web I can not find any mention of these so called facts maybe they were bogus.

The founder and his family is from Arkansas right next door to the buckle of the Bible Belt Oklahoma. I all likely hood Sam Walton ad his family were (are ) fundamentalist evangelical Christians

It would appear that whoever is in charge of Walmart now may have slipped in their evangelical Christian beliefs somewhat. They seem to be more interested in profit now and running local competition out of town.

When the founder Sam Walton was alive he would only American made products. After he died and his children took over the company is when the chinaman garbage was brought in.

I thought that I had read that somewhere that Sam Walton was a Christian and only allowed American made products in his store and ever since he left and his kids took over it has all gone Chinese now and trying to find American products is like trying to find the proverbial needle in the haystack.

My best friend is a VP of a company in Chicago. One of his workers worked for Walmart a few years ago.He told my buddy they import in the neighborhood of 800,000 shipping containers yearly from China. It was near $50 billion.Sickening when you think of all the lost jobs and money involved with that if those numbers are true.

The largest ship in the world is a container ship bringing the containers over here and returning to China empty.
