Unintended,you are confusing the Catholic Church with the Roman Catholic Church. Catholic means Universal. The Roman Catholic Church claims that Peter was the first Pope,but Peter was married and we know how the Roman Catholic Church feels about married priests. And for some reason it also forbids eating meat on Fridays,what's that about? NKJV 1Timothy 4:1,5 Now the Spirit expressly says that in the latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons,speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, forbidding to marry(God says of the overseer be of ONE wife)and abstaining from certain foods(some translations say certain meats) which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. Consider the problems our courts have in "translating" our own constitution,
written in our own language, a mear 228 years ago.
Now consider the age of the various books of the bible, the number of translations, some by committee,
then consider the number of differing "interpetations" of those differing "translations" taught today?
Did any of you ever engage in the old "camp fire game" of whispering a story to the person next to you,
each in tern, pass the story around the camp fire, back to the one who started it.
Then you discuss how the story changed as it traveled.............

Maybe you should read a little more history. Generally Catholic Church = Roman Catholic Church There are other smaller branches-Old Roman Catholic - Eastern Orthodox, etc. The Roman Catholic Church had married priests until the 12th century. Abstaining from meat on Fridays is a form of penance which Catholics are encouraged to do but is not mandatory except during the season of Lent. And can I assume that you follow all the others things written in the Bible say for instance in Deuteronomy?

If you're going to comment on religion, try looking at some history first.
Starvation always stalked past civilizations. They didn't have electricity or refrigeration, they didn't have long term storage of food, especially meat.
So the fishing fleets came in on Fridays, the fishermen needed to sell their fish and the fish need to be consumed before they spoiled. The eating of fish also stretched out the sources of meat as they needed to slaughter less animals, because of the fish.
So the religious leaders of the time, took on the responsibilities of leaders and demanded that their followers eat fish on Friday.
It increased the income of the fishermen and increased the food available to the people.
Just what the hell is your problem with that?

Other Roman popes besides Peter were married. So what?Orthodox priest marry but not their Bishops. Orthodox fast on Wednesdays and Fridays in commemoration that Christ was betrayed on Wednesday and crucified on Friday and the bible is very specific about fasting. When do you practice the Christian discipline of fasting? And fasting and abstinence is a Christian discipline practiced during the entire 40 days of Lent.
Catholic means much more than universal. It means that faith practices in all places by all the people for all times. Universality, antiquity and general consent. One, Holy, Catholic and apostolic church. No protestant church meet that criteria.

You're not being fair to Obama.
Obama built that wall just in case some illegal immigrants wanted to move in and he wants to keep them out.
So it's not for Obama to hide behind, it's just to keep all the undesirables out.
That's a lot different than a border wall.
Obama's already got his, so why do you need one.

I guess you didn't read the part that said "some will depart from the truth" that be the Catholic Church. Let me give a a example. In the 2nd Commandment thou shall not make unto yourselves graven images. That commandment IS NOT in the Catholic Catechism, but it is in the Bible. Then your leaders took the 10 th Commandment about coveting and broke it into 2 Commandments. That way there are still 10 commandments. I'm sure you knew that already, but just like the Democrat Party, the Catholic Church feeds a lot of Kool-Aid to it's followers.
