So says Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro:

"They're the lucky ones; most are curled up on the floor, blood streaming, limbs blackening."

And that, my friends, is the joys of socialism. All equally starving to death....

It's what happens to socialists when they run out of other peoples' money. 2 cents a gallon for gas. No wonder they're bankrupt.

I like the way they're denying that all the central bank money printing has nothing to do with the 720% inflation. And that's a government figure. How much is it in reality?

"Another died because the blood bank was closed due to a public holiday, which was randomly called by the government to save electricity." OMG! They're killing people at random to save electricity!

They're welcome to it. I'll stick 'clinging' to my 'guns and bibles', thanks anyway!

In that type of society you would have no vote. Just what the Dems want.

Gee, I nowhere saw The United States of America listed. Knowing PeterS's proclivity to do a dance on us at every turn, especially when it comes to health care, as is also the proclivity of most leftists, then perhaps he can tell us whether he goes to France for his health care, or better yet why he doesn't go to live in one of those countries whose socialist services he seems to admire so much.

Or even more to the point, why so many overseas monarchs and elected leaders come here for their medical care. And let's ask why airles from America had to expand their services to fly Canadians across the border to American cities for total hip replacements and other procedures, because the waiting list for approval became so long.

Will you respond, at last, to this challenge PeterS, or do what you always do and avoid it?

My girlfriend is from Cuba. She has her US citizenship and has traveled to Cuba to visit family from time to time.
I trust her interpretation as to what she sees as she travels the country.
Her cousin is a doctor. He makes 25 dollars a month. The medical facilities for Cubans are sparse in any amenities. But, it's free. The medical staffs do the best they can with what they have.......If you are the average Cuban, and you get sick....You are on your own and you die. When Fidel Castro was sick, did he stay in Cuba? No....
Oh, but they thrive on tourist money. And the medical establishments that Foreigners go to are well kept, and have skilled staff.
It is a society where taxi drivers make more than doctors or attorneys. It's true. Her last trip, which was back in May, she was amazed that the country had not changed much from when she left. Oh, the main city, Havana had upgrades to the popular spots, to attract foreigners. But, outside the major tourist spots, it is abject poverty. No one has any money to commence commerce. No one except the government owns ANYTHING! Sure, you can get a free house......You don't own it, though.
The food markets are regulated for the Cubans, as is water delivery.....Imagine you get a notice that you won't have water for two days? And it happens twice a month or more? But, She says the Cubans are very happy. Yeah....To be alive.
You have to ESCAPE CUBA!!!....You are not free to go....
And I will cite a case of my Gals distant relative.....I won't name names, let's just call her " Jane" and her boyfriend "Jim"...
Jane and Jim went to China as far as an education program....Two communist countries trading slaves? Anyway, they spent three years there. They both ended up in Miami, FLA. Defected.
Now, Jim goes back to Cuba to visit a sick relative. he had come and gone before....No problem...
But now, right now.....He is stuck there. Yes, he apparently said he would work for the government after his "Education" in China. Oh, and he has a military commitment.....This time, he doesn't come back to the US....He is property of the government. Jane does not know what is going to happen. She is fairly sure if goes to see Jim, she will be imprisoned on the island. I have spent some time talking with Jane personally. She speaks 4 languages, very bright person, loves America.
And is heartbroken about her situation, as she cannot go to her love without so much risk.

It happens...This is just one story.....

This is what you get with "Progressives".......Eventually.

It is an incremental thing....And as the history goes, the pendulum swings....
We are seeing a swing here.

Exactly so, and the alt-left thinks that's paradise. Yet they refuse to leave the USA, why is that?
