Tuesday evening on the radio, Conservative Review Editor-in-Chief Mark Levin addressed the announcement that Exxon-Mobil CEO Rex Tillerson is President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for secretary of state.
Levin said that the choice of Rex Tillerson ranks among the “worst” of Trump’s Cabinet picks.
Tillerson has close ties to members of the ruling class establishment. His nomination was praised by the likes of Condoleezza Rice, Robert Gates, and James Baker — luminaries of the Bush administration and, in the case of Rice and Gates, lobbyists for Exxon-Mobil. Additionally, his close relationship with Vladimir Putin is a major cause for concern.
Fundamentally, Tillerson is the wrong man for the wrong job at the wrong time. As Levin read from Conservative Review Senior Editor Daniel Horowitz’s piece today:
Trump should have appointed a secretary of State who regards the current State Department with as much disdain as Scott Pruitt regards the EPA. The problem we have at the State Department is not a management crisis. We have a moral and intellectual problem with the State Department that has persisted for decades. It stems from a deep-rooted culture of moral relativism and an “America-last” mindset. As such, we needed a man with a strong ideological rudder who understands the issues, is on the right side of them, and willing to bust up the entire State Department structure and the global foreign policy apparatus.
Tillerson is wrong on the issues. He’s pro-Putin at a time when Russian aggression threatens the peace and stability of eastern Europe. He agrees with the Left on global warming at a time when the nation’s top diplomat needs to stand up to big international climate agreements.
Long story short? Mark Levin characterized this choice by President-elect Trump as “disastrous.”

Rivers-that is exactly why Mark is a talk show host and Trump is president elect. Where has the ultra conservative Mark been for the past 20 years during which so called conservatives voted with the liberals most of the time. This is pure unadulterated BS and Mark will soon be in a class with McCain and Graham. If Tillerson had not agreed to support the Trump agenda he would not have been selected. The time to criticize Tillerson will be when and if he errs. Mark is acting like a disgruntled democrat. Good Luck America !!!

Mark Levin knows more about our nation's founding, our constitution, and our history than every one in the current government administration and every member of Trump's team put together. The idea that Levin is "acting like a disgruntled democrat" is absolutely ludicrous. Levin served for 8 years in the Reagan administration as AG Ed Meese's Chief of Staff. If you, ricko, have not listened to Levin or have not read any of his books, you have no grounds to make such ludicrous off-the-wall attacks on him.
Tillerson supports:
Gays in the Boy Scouts
Planned Parenthood
AGW and Paris accords (moved Exxon Mobile in that direction)
Carbon Tax
Iran nuclear deal
Common core.
Is opposed to economic sanctions,

Sorry, but I couldn't disagree more. Levin is NO McCain or Graham! Do you listen to his radio show? He is as conservative as they come. He is a big Trump fan, but not a Tillerson fan. I have liked all of Trump's picks up until I heard Levin on Tillerson, now I have my doubts about Tillerson. BTW, Levin has been on the Republicans backs constantly about their votes!
I agree. The more I read about Tillerson the more I am against him.

Ricko, I don't trust Trump. Yet. I knew I couldn't trust Hillary. I am sure the qualifications she would have put forth for her appointments would have been based on, sexual preference, skin color, and gender. We've had enough of that and it's been a disaster. I agree with almost all of Trumps picks but this one. If Trump wants America First and a tougher stance on our enemies and Tillerson will carry out his policies I will be fine with him.
Listening to Mark's monologues on the history of our country and its founding is a phenomenal education. Mark has long been a close friend of Dr. Larry Arnn, the President of Hillsdale College, the only college in America that teaches extensive courses on our constitution (Constitution 101 online course from Hillsdale is exceptional).
In addition, Mark is the president of Landmark Legal Foundation, a law firm that has sued the EPA on a number of issues. Mark is the Editor-in-Chief of Conservative Review and earlier this year, he launched LevinTV, a three hour television presentation, that has now expanded to include Mark Steyn, Michelle Malkin, and Steven Crowder. CRTV has its own studio, its own production team, and its own dedicated broadcasting system. They don't call Mark Levin "The Great One" without good reason.

Jim-point well taken !! I am willing to give Trump and his transition team the benefit of the doubt. As was already pointed out, Tillerson's stances on different items was to enhance the EXXON brand. I do not believe Trump would have selected him if he still held those positions today. If Trump is to drain the swamp he needs to do his very best not to refill it with former inhabitants. Trump passed over some very well qualified people to get to Tillerson and I am sure he was advised by knowledgeable people. I am not ready to dump on any of the Trump picks until and unless they prove themselves unworthy of holding the offices for which they were selected. Good Luck America !!!

I consider Tillerson far too willing to accomodate Iran, especially in view of Trump's vow to disavow the "Nuclear Agreement" foisted off on us by the Ovomit Adminstration. I have no info on him supporting gays in the scouts, or any of the other things. Trump's nominations of Jeff Sessions for AG proves that he means business about immigration. I also support his nomination of Rick Perry. Could be he has an "understanding" with Tillerson.

I believe we have addressed the question of Ted Cruz' eligibility. According to US law, anyone born overseas to one US citizen parent is a natural born citizen. There are only two classes of citizens; naturalized and natural born. Although the point is moot by now, it may arise in the future. The only requirement is that the one US citizen must have resided in the US for five years after their 14th birthday. All this crap about "must be born in the US to 2 citizen parents is just that... crap. This definition is correct, but it is NOT the only definition. Cruz's mother was a US citizen at the time of his birth, and had resided in the US for far more than 5 years after her 14th birthday. This is all black letter US Law, available for anyone who cares to look up 8 USC 1401.
According to Black's Law, which has been used by the Supreme Court as an authoritative cite in more than 600 cases since 1891, you are either a US citizen at birth, or you require naturalization. There is no third category.

And a know nothing moron vomits the leftist bile. No surprise there. Levin knows more about our founding, our constitution, and our history than the entire mob of leftist progressive dimwits combined. Go pound some nails and STFU.

Loki-I am not a fan of Iran however, with the advent of the multi-billion dollar deal between Iran and Boeing there will have to be some amelioration of Trump's stance on Iran if the deal is to be preserved. It will be interesting to see how that plays out. Can Tillerson convince Iran to forgo its nuclear aspirations and maintain the Boeing deal ??? Good Luck America !!!
Mr Levin you seem to be a whiner of highest order. You are never happy about ANYTHING!!!...,..,check your underwater. They may be a little small and too tight !
