Yes, it should.

The Supreme Court was wrong on this one. Treating the American Flag with respect in no way hinders anyone´s free speech.

Deliberately destroying a revered material object that has been sanctified by the shed blood of our military, is not an exercise of speech of any kind. Such destruction, is however, a visible obscenity.

Other than the Bald Eagle, nothing more symbolically represents this nation than does Old Glory.

For over two centuries, our best, brightest and most loyal have died to keep that flag proudly flying.

Just as it is a crime to harm or kill a Bald Eagle, it should be a crime to deliberately denigrate, mutilate, or destroy the American flag.

I believe that during the next four years, the Supreme Court will be given the opportunity to reverse themselves, and to get it right this time.

No need for a poll. This is an issue of free speech. Ripping up the constitution to save the flag is a very poor exchange and why are conservatives, who claim to be the protectors of the constitution, even making such a suggestion?

That's about as much free speech to burn the flag as it is to say, "I hate you Peter"and burn your house. It's me exercising free speech. See how idiotic claiming burning something is free speech? No, I don't hate you or anyone Peter, just using that as an example.

Agreed! It's a total slap in the face for those who have fought for our Rights. A pure insult. I'm an old guy but I would be hard pressed to stop from kicking the living shit out of anybody that did that in front of me. my civic duty!!!!

Yes, we've been watching the same shows, but if Trump was to put some conservative Justices in the Supreme Court would that change things? IMHO, the flag should be respected. When (I believe it was) Hampshire College in Western Mass. and the headmaster flew the flag at half mast (allowed) the day after the election and then took it down, this to me was a real slap in the face to America. Men and women have fought and lost their lives so that we can show respect for our "symbol" of a great nation. Don't like the law the way it is. I understand fully the concept. Example: Palin was being harassed by a Left wing loon out in the audience and response was spot on. Basically she said you wouldn't be allowed to do this in any other country (and you would be shot in Cuba, I might add), but stick around and maybe you will learn something.

Te more conservative the Court becomes, the more likely that the freedom of expression will be validated. I may not like it, but that is the truth of it. We can show out respect for the flag and what it represents to those of use who served or those of us who recognize what it represents from the Pequot War thru the screwed up mid east today. Did you know that about 3,800 died as a result of combat in the Revolution and TWELVE THOUSAND PLUS died in prisons run by the British? Look up Revolutionary War Prison ship Jersey and NY Harbor prison ships. 500,000 casualties in the Civil War....and so on.....
