Fear not, it will never fcking happen but in light of your points, California would never be Republic nor would your Bill of Rights be incorporated into its Socialist political system. Second point, the word "Healthy" would never be used as long as California continues to run its business with deficit spending due to its socialist political system. Ever! California would look more like Venezuela after a decade!

California would be a "Republic-In-Name-Only", and the "Bill of Lefts" wold almost certainly replace the "Bill of Rights" in their Socialist System... And my use of "Healthy" was a sarcastic jab based on their very real Deficit Spending... And I think California would - to paraphrase Pres Obama - "make Venezuela look like a JV Team in less than a decade!!!"

Readers in this forum might also like to know that California's budget surplus this year is expected to be around 2.8 billion dollars. How much will Texas' amount to ?

I'm sure they're gonna try to fix that now. Let's bet they'll start with EPA deregulations just as Bush did after Clinton and Gore.

Cheney still got his way with deregulating water protections with fracking.

After reading this, I'm heartened over the prospects of California seceding from the USA and forming it's own Healthy Republic...
The USA will lose vast Revenues and Technologies, but it will make trade agreements and continue to benefit from California in every way the rest of the USA already does...
And without California's 53 House of Representatives Seats and 2 Senate Seats, and keeping the 435 House Seat it has maintained since 1911, the GOP will certainly control the USA Congress from Day 1 of California's departure into the Foreseeable Future...

California's Secession will result in a Political "Win-Win"...

I'm always taken back by how many Repub,'s in one breath say how they would want to do what our founding fathers would want, than on other hand, they would support a one party system. Do they really think that's what they would have favored? And if they would have ever foreseen it would they try everything to prevent it.

George Washington commented, in his farewell address, that political parties should be restrained in popularly elected governments because they distract the government from its duties, sow jealousy and distrust between groups and regions, raise false alarms, promote riots, and provide foreign nations and special interests access to our government where they then impose their wills upon the nation. Does any of that sound contemporaneously relevant?

Hey, Morgan, don't just blame the republicans, democrats are just as guilty. Have you not figured out there is really only one political party in the US. That is the corporate party. The dems are merely its left arm and the repubs are merely its right arm. The difference is only an illusion used to divide the sheople with. The establishment of the corporate party do not care which arm is in power as long as they get to call the shots. That is why both arms of the corporate party opposed Trump. Get it?

All things considered, its hard to really know whether or not Ca. is a net gain for the United States or not? Militarily speaking, California is critical.

As long as our states and the federal govt continues down the road of deficit spending, there will be nothing but pain, suffering and death for Americans. Americans do not understand how fiat money is created and how it works. At some point in the very near future, the USD will lose its global reserve status. When this happens and make no mistake about it, it will, the civil unrest here in America will be unlike any previous event in American history. The confidence game on global fiat currencies is coming to an end. The entire financial system is one giant fraud and the globalist banking cartels know this is coming to an end thus you are now seeing negative interest rates and the war on cash being waged through the deep states MSM propaganda machines. Of course they tell you this is to fight crime and terrorism. Everything gets blamed on terrorism.!

Watch the bond markets, this is where it will start!

Recently moved to Northern California (Redding ) where the desert meets the forest. Second most sunny days in the U.S.surrounded in natural resources, rivers, lakes, mountains and valleys. Elk, deer, wild boar, bear, cougar, salmon, trout, 85 miles to the Pacific Ocean, 70 miles to oregon boarder. This is one of the few places in California, that is not (like) california.
Slightly over 70% of shasta county (Redding ) are conservatives, remaining %independent, and democrat.

This area of the country is s breath of fresh air after living in 80% liberal communities in Washington state, Olympic Peninsula

You definitely have a point about critical coast lines for military purposes. All the US would then have is Oregon and Washington in the lower 48.

Yep but its all in theory because it would never happen. California will never be allowed to leave on its own anymore than the confederacy was allowed to leave 150 years ago. Same goes for Texas.

Even though it was the states that created the Federal government, its the Federal government that calls the shots. That is abundantly clear now.

As a matter offact, regarding legislation and practices to preserve and enhance the environment, California leads the rest of the country. We care very much about the environment, and you should, too. But if you voted for Trump, you obviously were not thinking. As for frackiong, your welcome to your earthquakes.

Could ya get all those who want Calif. to depart the country to stay West of the San Andreas fault line , that way when the big earthquake hits you can just drift away and save us all some trouble .. Frack You !!

Couldn't have said it better myself. California IS the fault line.
