I'm with ya, Tom. I think we can/should ban as much political talk from our visit as possible.

And, I'm with ya in hoping Salty can make it.
It is not good to argue politics with your friends. It can only cause unnecessary heart break and regrettable outbursts.

It's worse when you argue politics with Family. My brothers and I found out the hard way...but, we learned.

I have a brother in rural Washington who leads his family in prayer before every meal and calls himself a patriot and brags about his 9mm Glock and his concealed carry permit and how he was instructed to empty his clip into his targeted "attacker".. He believes all negative rhetoric and I can only handle a few days around him and his blowing his own horn for his many achievements. I have a multi millionaire uncle who thinks that he is being bled dry by "liberals". He tells you that he is taking you out to dinner then reaches in to his kitchen drawer and pulls out coupons for several restaurants then lets you choose one. You get to the restaurant and he tells you what to order. . I leave a $20 tip for a party of 6 and he looks at me like I am crazy. he is embarrassing in the grocery store with his bargain hunting and he will not leave until he checks his receipt against every item in his cart.. He believes in reducing the minimum wage but he loathes having to pay taxes. He thinks his money is being wasted on social programs.. The one thing I have found that is common to politically charged and opinionated people is their need to dominate the conversation and bask in their glory without any one muttering a single word of objection. Screw all that I am never going to be that way. I found my way to the center a long time ago. and I feel normal in a sea of radical thought.

I discovered a long time ago that there was much about you with which I liked and agreed.

I know many, including some in my Family, who are like your brother. But, then, I am far from perfect in their eyes, also. I am constantly reminded of lyrics out of an old Dave Mason song..."So let's leave it alone, 'cause we can't see eye to eye. There ain't no good guy, there ain't no bad guy. There's only you and me, and we just disagree."

Thanks. Compared to me Ronald Reagan was probably a liberal.

It's going to take people who are to the right of Attila The Hun and who possess "Traditional" American values, morality and spirituality to pull us out of the Marxist Progressive vermin infested swamp.

I apologize to you for calling you cruel and not a man of God. Could you in turn soften your heart and help yourself in the process. Life is not that hard. Bless you and peace come upon you.
