I've been owned by my dogs for 53 years. Their biggest concern, in their later days was that they would leave me" alone". Your dog does not want you to NOT have a dog. When you have to let go of your friend, your friend wants you to get another friend. That's called LOVE

Moses is one of 7 dogs. I'm their human. I live out in the country and people often dump dogs out here. Moses himself came to me that way, he was so small he couldn't have been older than just enough to be weaned,5 or 6 lbs. he grew up to be 155lbs. I named him Moses because he found the promised land, a pup that young should never have survived. My road is a dead end. I don't have the heart to let them starve.

I knew I heard that. Just this morning I was wondering if he had a plan for the restrictions.
Did Great Britain ever successfully control theirs?
Why am I thinking about cow farts at three a.m.?

Big dog: Dog's have given me something, that
so far in my life, no human is capable of, &
that is unconditional, love. Something, that
Humanity, seem's to have ignored, or forgotten.
Dog's are indeed, man & woman's, Best Friend.

It is a tough decision and we all have the wish for the dog who is our friend to live just another day. You will know. there is a look, plus unwillingness to eat no longer wagging his tail, wanting to be alone, those are all signs that the time has come. Be with him, hug him and say good by. Most vets now use an injection that causes the dog to become unconscious and past suffering very quickly. After that has been administered, say good by and leave the room. That is what we have always done. The dog does not know the difference but it is better to not cry in front of him. Then go and have a good cry. Take time before getting a new dog but not too long. Each dog is a special creature, a different gift from God. Even if they are the same breed and related they will be unique. some people want a new breed because they are afraid of comparing the puppy and the last dog. My advice is--if you liked the breed get another of that breed, preferable from the same breeder if you were happy with the breeder and consider her ethical and helpful. If you are getting a mi breed, great but don't let your heart get in the way of your common sense. If the mix breed is 8 weeks and 30 pounds and you are 70 and arthritic that dog may not be the best choice. If the dog has the energy of ten dogs, and you are a couch potato, you will not be happy with the dog. If your neighbor has a litter of mi breed puppies and the mother has a great temperament and the whole family has been handling the puppies all along, you have found a great choice, find the one in the litter that makes you smile and want to hug him, and bring him home. Take him to the vet for a check up before you have gone any further, a sick puppy or one with a serious heart defect is not what what you need.
Hope these suggestions help when the time comes.

Yes. We all can learn from our pets. Their loyalty is unsurpassed as is their love.
