One Weird Fact About That “Hispanic” Shooter At The Cascade Mall

If you havent' seen a lot of coverage of the shooting at Cascade Mall in Seattle, WA, Friday night that left five people dead you are not alone. Unlike any other mass shooting in US history since the advent of radio this horrendous act has virtually disappeared from headlines in less than 48 hours. If you've followed the history of this case it is illustrative for several reasons.

Suspect was identified as "Hispanic"

Shortly after the shooting the police released surveillance video of the shooter.

They identified the suspect as "Hispanic."

Just one problem.

The shooter was a 20-year-old Turkish immigrant to the United States named Arcan Cetin. And he was a member of the Religion of Peace. One could nearly smell the political correctness blowing from the exhaust vents at the Seattel PD as they leapt at the straw that the gunman was Hispanic.

And the gun...

Cetin was a convicted felon and unable to buy a firearm. So he stole a .22-caliber hunting rifle from his father. The freakin thing was not only not an AR-15 it wasn't black and it didn't look scary.

It wasn't terrorism

This is an exact quote from USA Today and I swear I'm not making this up

Despite rumors about Islamic terrorism, authorities said during a news conference late Saturday there is no evidence of the shooting being terror-related.

The motive remains unclear, but law enforcement sources told KING-TV Cetin's ex-girlfriend used to work at the Macy's where the shooting happened. However, she has not worked there in months and now lives in another county.

The reason this shooting is not getting wall-to-wall coverage is damned simple to explain.

The shooter is a Muslim immigrant. The weapon was obtained illegally and aesthetically unobjectionable.

The lack of a clear motive hints that the motive was very clear.

This caps off a week in which virtually every one of Donald Trump's critiques of society was proven correct.

If it doesn't fit the narrative it doesn't matter.

You're right - it doesn't fit the narrative, but not in the way you think and maybe we're missing the boat here and not seeing the frightening truth, which is we need to pay closer attention to who and what our kids are turning to, or being exposed to, when they are in crisis.
Here are some of the facts I uncovered from his family member's Facebook pages and his before they took down his Facebook page:
1. They all (he, his mother and brother) fully assimilated into "American culture" once they got here (although the mother still appears to have friends (maybe family) from Turkey that wear a head scarf (98% of Turks are Muslim).
2. Mother married a white, Christian conservative who saw her sons as his own (always referred to them as his sons, not step-sons).
3. Where he lived is on an island with a big military community (Naval Air base) and his older brother joined the Navy after high school (his step-father's brother is/was also Navy). Local posters are quick to point out that they DO NOT identify with "Liberal Seattle" or "liberal Washington".
4. The 3 of them have many Hispanic friends and appear to want to be associated with Hispanics and not Turks (if you click on his older brother's "real name Tag" in Facebook it takes you to his profile where his profile name is a Hispanic name. He posted a selfie of himself titled "So this is what a Syrian refugee looks like...my parents have a lot of explaining to do" and a friend commented "you post this here on FB but you were pretty upset when the guy called you that in the bar"...seems he doesn't want to be associated with ANY middle eastern country, because in HIS mind he is an American Navy veteran.
5. The shooter was in ROTC in high school and was heavily into gaming (Call of Duty) and someone (a girl) who's mother and brother worked with him said that he attended Christian church his entire life here in the U.S. Strangely enough, this girl's father is a childhood friend of someone I and my family and friends know VERY well (just kind of makes me believe her opinion more than what the MSM is reporting).
6. This same girl who's family personally knew him, who has mutual friends that went to high school with him, is saying that something happened to him (mentally) around the time he was 17 - he started losing friends because of his behavior - he had difficulty socializing with girls (comments like "All the girls I know seem to be on their period (read:bitchy) at the same time!") By 18-19 he started having conflicts (that turned physical) with his step-dad (over what, who knows?).

So, what's my point? My point is that we keep saying "The immigrant Muslims aren't assimilating once they're here", because we somehow think that no non-Muslim "American" could become radicalized - but here we have someone who's family DID assimilate, big time. If it DOES turn out that somehow he was quickly radicalized, then we're in WAY bigger trouble than we thought, because then ANYONE's American kid could be and maybe THAT is why it's not getting much coverage in the MSM, because how frightening would THAT be?

Here's the info we're not getting that I want to know:
1. At what age did he immigrate here? Did he get exposed to radical Islam by trying to "get in touch" with his heritage (there was a recent pic of him drinking Turkish coffee)?
2. What's the backstory on his biological father - is he still alive, is he in Turkey, is he a radical Muslim...WHY is there no mention or info on HIM? If alive, did his son reach out to him?

If we're going to need to protect ALL of our kids from this evil, we need to know the answers to HOW it's happening.

An update:
He was an only child, he posted that he was 7 years old when he came to the U.S. and that his uncle in Turkey had sexually molested him and that he was struggling with it. This is more than likely what was causing his PTSD, which is what he was diagnosed with and more than likely why he was "self medicating" himself with alcohol and pot.
His mother married his step-father in 2003.
