We have free education K-12 and have had it for well over a century. What happens is that for those who want it to it works! It worked at the college level too until we removed funding for it. Besides I wasn't talking about free but subsidized which is what we had in the 70's but started to end in the 80's and 90's. Why do you think tuition has risen so fast--when you cut taxes on the wealthy something has to give!
