Riot In Milwaukee last evening. Solution to quell violence all who can be identified by surveillance video, police cameras or other means should be sent a bill to replace all property damage, both law enforcement equipment and business materials looted and damaged. Should the rioters fight the monetary charges in court and l9se they should pay all expenses in that regard. The police equipment damaged and destroyed was purchased with taxpayer funds. The businesses buildings and items looted was private property. Identifying and charging the thugs and riff raff would quell some of this foolishness.

What usually happens after a riot is that an investigation results in arrests and charges in the weeks afterwords. The practice of overwhelming rioters who are mixed in with peaceful demonstrators has been shown to stoke even more rioting. The new model is to contain and deescalate the disturbance. This denies the rioters of additional numbers reacting to a violent crackdown. It also denies armchair vigilantes the spectacle of street justice applied by truncheons and water cannon.
