Just joined and am so far not at all impressed with the articles nor the commentary beneath them. The article I first read was on Hillary Clinton's ineligiblity to hold office and it did not include major facts that even I as a concerned citizen know. More on that later.
Then, it appears that instead of intelligent debate, people choose to fight, name call and use profanity in their posts addressing the content of an article. Very disappointing, indeed!
I understand that with political discussion comes strong emotion attached to one's opinion, but it should reigned in for the purpose of intelligent dialogue and discussion on the matter instead of a psychological venting of frustration.
Anyway, glad to be here and will hopefully be contributing to increasing or benefitting the knowledge of the members in this group with any input I contribute.
Thank you.
As one of the profaners I say welcome and good luck... Don D.

Welcome aboard, Alison, and it sounds from your introduction "thread" that you are a conservative, and understand a few reasons beyond the "article" about HRC, and possibly why she is still being chased around the block by a few dozen FBI Agents. I look forward to hear what you have to say; and many of the insults, foul language and personal attacks you mentioned on OPP are [in many cases] by the same ideology and agenda that is now attacking the Trump rally's; and some [actually on the conservative side] occasionally like to "light-up" those who continue to support those who continue to deceive. Good luck, and it only takes a few lines of reading to see "who's on first."

Perhaps you will enlighten us lowly frustrated and profane individuals with a strong measure of your infinite wisdom.
Pray tell us, oh mistress of sublime intelligence, what are the solutions to our obvious distress and the degradation of mankind ?

Perhaps you should control your sarcasm with new people to give them an idea of the total of your intellect which is much more than the sarcasm you exhibit here.

Welcome! Hopefully you'll be one of the examples of adult discussion here, which, as you pointed out, are badly needed. You'll soon learn which posters comments to ignore and which to pay attention to, mostly by being exposed to their responses. BTW, by analyzing the word usage here, implies that the average age of the posters is 6 - and has nothing to do with the complexity of the words used, only HOW the words are used.
Welcome, Alison.
I hope your stay proves worthwhile.
