We live in the real world also. It is only after the body dies that we enter what you think is the fantasy land.

Here on earth we must contend with all the violence and criminal activities that plague everyone. God tells us how to live on earth. He never said to allow others to walk on us and allow ourselves to be abused and murdered. Therefore while on earth we protect ourselves, our loved ones, and our property. We also like sporting with guns as others do, and collecting them etc. What an odd comment you made about Christians owning guns. It shows how little you really understand. Perhaps that why you turned from God. You have a very narrow image of what being a Christian is. We are like everyone else only differing in our faith, just as I imagine atheists are like - everyone else only differening in their lack of faith.

As I said, you can't hold Christianity responsible for the actions of individuals any more than I can hold all atheists responsible for the actions of individuals. You can try, but it doesn't wash. You live, work, associate with a mix of philosophies. Some Christian, some other and you would't know one from the other unless for some reason you asked or the conversation went there. People don't wear labels and we are much the same on the surface. Only differing in core philosophy that is rarely discussed..

If you are going to discuss Christianity then learn about it because so far most of your concepts are either sarcasm or you don't have a clue of what you criticize. If you wish to discuss Christianity then get up to speed because you certainly are way off base. I don't know who or what you turned away from but it wasn't Christianity or God.

Since god is omnipotent freewill doesn't mean squat. And are you telling me that if you trust in god he won't protect you? And how am I off base? You've created a god that you don't have to have faith in. God knew when he created you just how your life was going to play out. If you trust in god than you trust in the plan that he has for you. I got that from Christian Doctrine which I took when I was a sophomore in College. Faith is at the center of Christianity and if you don't trust god to protect you than how can you stand there and say you have faith in god.

And what good is living in a fantasy land only to have it cease to exist once we die? When we die we die MW. It's nice that you believe in land of sunshine and lollipops but I would far rather live in a world that real than one we've made up simply because we are afraid of death.

By creating a god we kill two birds with one stone: 1) It saves us from the fear of death and 2) it grants authority to the laws that govern man--we don't obey the law because man says to but because god says to otherwise he will penalize us. That's why we invented god and whether is was Thor, Zeus, or the god of the bible all were created for the same purpose and eventually all were cast away for the same reason--they simply weren't of any use anymore. The clock is ticking on the god of Abraham and while I am sure you will never admit it he is dying faster and faster everyday...
