As an old, retired coach of girls track for 17 years I have to say that they really thrilled me by how hard they worked and how well they competed. I was asked over and over to take the boys team but just couldn't do it. Of course, my best hurdlers in the state couldn't have beat the beat boys most of the time and this article talks to that and why it was. I am totally against this transgender crap and really can't make out why Obama and his main advisor, Valerie Jarret, want to destroy so much of what we do and have always done, but I do think the motive for them is ulterior.

The picture with this article isn't one of 5k runners like are mentioned in the writing but since a tranny won the 5k in Alaska State Track it makes no difference other than that they wouldn't have finished like that.

Oldroy - Like so many who do not seem to actually understand what the transgendered individual's experience is like, you appear to be framing the issue in terms of what it may or may not do to you. It actually does nothing to you at all, and the only motive in the current debate is one of acceptance, understanding and safety for transgendered individuals.

I fully understand that this is something many will have a nearly impossible time accepting. But if a marine can accept his transgendered daughter's identity then I think the rest of us can at least try. I will never agree that any radical religious group holds the truth on how society should be structured, but I accept that they exist and support their right to follow their dogma. Until they attempt to require me to follow their way, they have no impact on me at all. Similarly, I don't think anyone is asking you to become a transsexual.

The question of fairness in athletic competition is not one easily answered I admit. But there are many, many cisgendered females who would question any challenge to their fitness to compete with men, so I don't see how the issue of a transgendered athlete should be a big issue.

Just another way to work toward the destruction of Western Culture. Pretending that there are no real differences between men and women and that what gender you are "assigned" at birth is just random. Of course there are differences between men and women, and THANK GOD FOR THAT!!!!

I guess that we are going to have to go to strip searching the contestants at the sporting events and if the hardware for a male is still present then you can't participate as a female sorry. If you want to act like a girl and take hormones to look like a girl your choice but you can't compete as a girl. Have a transgender track meet if you want and then those that look like girls and are men can compete in theirs and those that look like men but are girls can compete in theirs. And the sodomites can compete in their fairy group as well all alone.

I have come to be completely astounded that you, who are so devoted to faith in your religious views, absent of any supporting science, continue to try and leverage the science of genetics to support your stance. To accommodate this very small percentage of the population, rules have to change to pretend that bone structure, muscle mass, lung capacity, and heart and lunge structure are the same for male and female. Even twenty years after sex change surgery many of the structural differences remain, and the Olympic rules do not require any appreciable time lapse between hormone treatment and participation. Do the rules now allow female to male transgenders to have extra body building drugs which may be part of the sex change protocol, and if so, the real males are at a disadvantage against artificially enhanced bodies too. Natural men and women aren't allowed growth hormones or body builder hormones but the transgenders are according to what I have read. Apparently the real concept may be to make competition obsolete, because with such distorted rules, no fair competition is possible. Just another way to break down the human spirit while pretending that it is just to be "fair".

I mentioned my hurdler who won so many races competing with other girls, didn't I? She tied a national record in a State Meet. She was a real competitor and worked harder and longer than any boys I have ever known, and yet she couldn't have been able to beat the best boys in the state. Those would have to be males that Obama wants to use female facilities. I am sure that if she had been in a restroom and a self-identifying male walked in to look around she would have physically attacked him. She was only 5'4 and weighed about 100 pounds but she wouldn't have backed down from an Obama inserted creep,either.
