The last time there was a huge tax on "the rich" was in the 1950's, if I am not mistaken. Do not make the mistake of believing that this was a tax on their total income. Most of that was safely socked away in shelters. If I have a thousand bucks, and $990 of it is in a tax shelter, why should I care if you tax the remaining $10 at 90%? Anytime "the rich" stand to take a soaking, amigo, they will cover their butts. They did not get so wealthy and stay that way by being idiots.
I, too, grew up in the Southwest, in a town that was more than 50% Latino. Hablo español también. Everyday, there are thousands of Mexicans who cross the border, transact their legitimate business for a day or a week or whatever, and go home. These people are not the problem, nor are they wetbacks. Migrant workers are not the problem either. The people who sneak into this country, and immediately start scamming our sieve-like entitlement programs, who have no intention of assimilating into our culture or becoming citizens or even learning English, but are simply here for whatever they can scam ARE the problem. More than a third of our Federal prison population are illegal Mexicans. You don't go to Federal prison over a parking ticket.
When I say "wetbacks," I refer to the illegals who fall into the latter categories of people I described. Right now the family two houses down the road from me are naturalized US citizens from Mexico. They are very good neighbors, and they don't like wetbacks very much either. They also use the term as does another member of their family who owns the insurance agency I use.

Loki do a little research and stop your foolishness. What bothers me the most on low information people such as yourself you just can't understand the loopholes that these major corporations take advantage of, off shore accounts, tax inversions, tax subsidies, we have at this point 49 corporations that are on the Fortune 500 list of profitable companies that pay zero taxes and somehow in your idiotic pea brain you think this is fair and balanced, GE has not paid a federal tax in years why. These Fortune 500 companies pay an average of 11.7% taxes. Then when someone like Trump files bankruptcy 11 times because he mismanaged his companies he gets federal protection. Trump has not paid taxes for years he gives his kids cash distributions every year to avoid taxes and there is a tax law of overcompensation that's why he gets audited every year.
If you lower the corporate rate to just 25% then not one Fortune 500 company will be paying a federal tax. How can you deny this is going on. Obama agreed to a 25% corporate tax but eliminate the loopholes. The republicans said no
