Agreed. This election, I hope, will show that both parties are rotten from the head down.
On a more positive note, both parties seem to have no 'heir apparent', so maybe some of the ground up organizing going on will start spitting out some new ideas and candidates by the next cycle.

I hope so. The timeline tells us this might be true: Battle in Seattle, or WTO riots (though riot was a media exaggeration but that's another discussion), Occupy Wallstreet, Bernie's superb showing, all point to a strong move leftward for progressives. The movement toward huckster Trump on the right is indicative of desperate people being fed up with electing conservatives who have failed their constituents on every level. It's the rampant corporatism that's killing thus country. The tone deaf Debbie Wasserman Schultz is such a prime example of piggies feeding at the trough. I still can't believe she traded postponing the legislation against rapacious payday lenders for a couple of thousand dollars in campaign contributions. What the eff was she thinking? There are so many examples on the right, but I'll leave that up to the righties to elaborate. Or am I being too idealistic? They're so fixated on bashing Obama with tired tropes and indulging like masutrbatory teenagers eating pizza in their parents' basement that they don't see what's coming.

What a terrific way of articulating the political process in this country. Neither one of these two should be running this country. They both lie and neither one could be trusted to run this country. I have considered not voting in this election cycle but I never missed voting in local, state and national elections. I am very pissed off at how the SCOTUS operates it has become another political party of which we cannot vote for someone that receives a lifetime appointment. We have citizens united that allow the corporate elite to buy (ALL) politicians.
Democrats bought and paid for (Citizens United)
Republicans bought and paid for(Citizens united)
SCOTUS operates on political agenda versus constitutional law
Federal reserve controls every aspect of our economy with no congressional oversight
So I would be interested as to what you think should be done and how to accomplish fixing this problem.
Can you just imagine what happens with the SCOTUS if either a democrat or republican gets into the White House and could potentially appoint 3 new judges. Congress will be rendered ineffective because everything will end up in court.

reconreb-don't be too hard on tdsrnest. Remember that he married upon graduation from the eighth grade his spelling and vocabulary is limited. How knows how to cut and paste as you suggest and his recent post from 1981 is especially significant. lol The guy is a rabid amoebic brained mind numbed democrat who is much like the energizer bunny. Put in new batteries, program the dude and turn him loose. lol lol He thinks Trump is the one under FBI criminal investigation. I wonder how many more there are at the bottom of the democrat barrel. lol Good Luck America !!!

Yep. People are running from the parties like they are leaving a burning theatre. Both parties.
Meanwhile, both parties keep throwing things out there with the help of the media to create more, and more division among the populace. And people buy into it!! It's disgusting to me.
Think about it folks....every disagreement equals hate anymore. Is that realistic, or true? This is what they have created.
Now we have Trump, and Bernie with a whole host of bigger problems staring us right in the eye!
All of their shennagins won't effect them, but they will us!!

There seems some consensus on both sides of the divide:
Some sort of term limits for Congress including for Supreme Court Justices. (If SCOTUS are allowed to make life altering interpretations of Law then that should be subject to the contemporary voice of the People.)
An end to the right of Congress to self award benefits and perks not available to all American Citizens ie: Free Health Care and Lifetime Pension Benefits. (Compare these benefits to what are allowed for Veterans for example to get a relative perspective.)
An end to the "precious" nature of the Constitution. It was a brilliant document for it's time when written but seriously flawed when viewed from the light of contemporary human needs and aspirations. It should be easier to amend where there is a reasonable consensus.
An end to the idea that powerful financial interests on either side can "buy" an election. One man/woman = one vote.
I'm only drawing the tip of the iceberg obviously. Others could add to this list.
The biggest challenge frankly is implementing any of this. You are basically asking the foxes to relinquish control of the chicken coop which they will scream loudly about if you suggest these changes. Insurrection is out also because of the social political and military upheaval and long term harm to the American Nation as a whole.
Better is a grass roots campaign for a plurality of Independent Candidates with responsible ideas and platforms. Non affiliation is the wave of the future and it has already begun. It will be a long process but in the end the current system can only self destruct. We need people and processes in place to take up the leadership when that happens.

I thought Trump was self financed shit I guess you forgot that. Did the Donald lie about that. Let's hear your twist on Trump not being beholding to anybody I am self financing my campaign. Just like you put a twist on Bush we will get attacked by Saddam in the form of a mushroom cloud. You people hide from your own words.
As usual, turdnasty, you are a Goddamn liar. Bush never said Saddam Hussein had nukes. Go back to blowing horny truck drivers. Your boy Obama has made it legal for you to ply your trade in the women's bathroom now.

Well which of those articles are not true. You have to understand this guy is a scum bag he always has been and always will be. Can you just imagine when this scum bag went bankrupt 11 times he had $6 billion in corporate debt and $1 billion in personal debt how many people that were doing business with this guy got screwed out of there money.
The DNC has not even started to expose this guy and what he has done. That scum bag will not release his taxes he has been lying about how much money he actually has.

Aaaah Mr. Loki. I'm sure your stylish faece flinging is satisfying to post but I have to scratch through it to find the gist of your message.

Tell me something; assuming this leftward move by progressives comes to fruition, who is going to pay for it? While I think Sanders is light years better than Hillary the Harridan, he has promised everything to everybody. By the time he got through with our economy, our national anthem would be
"Don't Cry for Me, Argentina." Do you think he will solve unemployment by putting everyone to work in the garden where he plans to grow all the free shit he has promised? Both Hillary and Bernie would be perfectly happy if the US were not longer a sovereign nation, but rather some sort of satrapy in a one World Government or at least a North American Union. Why do you think they wish to dismantle our borders, especially with Mexico? Do you and other progressives really want to see us become
Los Estados Unidos de Mexico del Norte ? (Con las Estampillas de Comida por todos los pueblos?).
While I have my doubts about Trump, I have none about Hillary or Bernie.
I don't see any Obama bashing tropes here. There is nothing metaphorical about it. I do agree with you about Debbie Wasserman Schultz, but what do you expect from someone named after a syphilis test? Both parties are rotten through and through, and while I don't hold up Trump as a model of decorum, he has had the effect of shaking up the complacency of the DC Establishment who think their precious asses are invulnerable.
Ted Cruz was right when he said that official Washington is like WWE wrestling on TV; the whole thing is choreographed, and the winners and losers are picked before the public sees a thing. If nothing else, maybe this election has rattled their collective teacup a little bit.

I find it most therapeutic. Your attempt to raise the vocabulary bar is most laudable, but bear in mind that
faece is not a word. It is always used in the plural.
FaecesThere is no message. It is pointless to send one to turdnest, as anything more advanced than
"See Spot run" will be completely beyond his ken.
