And exactly what "alphabet soup" are you referring to, 49? CPUSA? SPUSA? OWS? MB? CAIR? SDS? ISIS? MSA? LGBTQ? Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I guess you're right; if you don't understand what the letters stand-for, it ALL looks just like "alphabet soup." But who, pray tell, on OPP, doesn't know what the letters stand for??? And to leave them OUT, would make less sense than "liberalism," itself. Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TRUMP!!!

Look PeterS, learn your history. The progressives of the early twentieth century admired Lenin & Mussolini both and considered them similar. Mussolini had been a socialist. He simply took these planks 7, 8 & 9 from The Manifesto to fashion his fasicism.
(7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the state; the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.
8. Equal obligation of all to work. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.
9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of all the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the populace over the country.)

He realized that an economic could happen with them and forged a partnership between business and government. Hitler also bought off the industrialists.

Friedrich Hayek in The Road to Serfdom documented that when students were graduating from German univerisites in the 1920s, they weren't sure if they were National Socialists (Nazis) or soviet Socialists (Communists).

Hitler modeled his Youth Corps after FDR's Civil Conservation Corps.

You are entitled to your opinion but not to your facts.

Progressivism, socialism, fascism, national socialism and communism are philosophic brethren.

Fas·cism...ˈfaSHˌizəm/noun...An authoritarian and nationalistic right-wing system of government and social organization. synonyms: authoritarianism, totalitarianism, dictatorship, despotism, autocracy; More (in general use) extreme right-wing, authoritarian, or intolerant views or practice.

Or...Fascism. The only official definition of Fascism comes from Benito Mussolini, the founder of fascism, in which he outlines three principles of a fascist philosophy.

1."Everything in the state". The Government is supreme and the country is all-encompassing, and all within it must conform to the ruling body, often a dictator.
2."Nothing outside the state". The country must grow and the implied goal of any fascist nation is to rule the world, and have every human submit to the government.
3."Nothing against the state". Any type of questioning the government is not to be tolerated. If you do not see things our way, you are wrong. If you do not agree with the government, you cannot be allowed to live and taint the minds of the rest of the good citizens. The use of militarism was implied only as a means to accomplish one of the three above principles, mainly to keep the people and rest of the world in line. Fascist countries are known for their harmony and lack of internal strife. There are no conflicting parties or elections in fascist countries. Nazi Germany was extreme Fascism, better examples of fascist countries were Mussolini's Italy, Iraq, Iran, and many middle eastern countries.

And those three are exactly like socialism and the progressivism of Bernie & Hillary. Tell me there PeterS, am I entitled to opt out of your progressive solutions? And doesn't three sound like your political correctness?

As much as I detest Trump, I still expect to write in my own choice rather than The Donald or Hillary. And, whoever wins., i would choose to give him/her the chance to prove themselves before condemning their vision and efforts before they even take office. After all, the winner in November will be our nation's leader...for better or worse. I cling to hope for the better, whoever wins.

Interesting statement. The Nazi Youth Corps had existed since 1922, with minimal membership. Hitler took over in 1926, but it really didn't start exploding until he became head of the German people in 1933. I saw nor read any evidence of modeling his Youth Corps after the CCC, which was founded that same year. I am curious, and would appreciate some/a links to your source. Thank you.

The pertinent take-away from the first definition offered is "right-wing" as previously suggested. So, in effect, you are saying that fascism/socialism, along with other right-wing/left-wing ideological differences are each one and the same? Interesting.

BTW, I am not PeterS.

You just bought and paid for my vote, young lady. I can't guarantee victory though. If you lose, may I still be a dinner guest in your humble abode
