Of course it was. That is what was always taught in the schools until the scummy America hating leftists took over the educational system. There is something very wrong about the left. This country is far from perfect but it's a hell of a lot better and more righteous than the others. Years ago. In sociology class at OSU the professor said the reason the Pilgrims left England was they were forcing everyone to follow the Episcopalian faith. They wanted FREEDOM FROM RELIGION..

The USA was founded on Christians believes but the last 40 years been a down motion . When the US Congress took prayer out of schools that's when schools went down quick. The Congress thought it offended too many people that were non Christians ! Now the President on May 13, 2016 was ok have both sexes in the same public schools locker rooms . Two states taking a stand against this dumb law that alouds both sexes in our public schools systems in USA !

The secular governments in our world never quite understood OUR "experiment," of a government "OF THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE AND FOR THE PEOPLE," our "Elective Constitutional Republic," free-market Western, Judeo-Christian Founding; and have been trying to tear "US" down from the very beginning of America's "creation." But if anyone is foolish enough to think that America's hospitality [occasionally to a fault] is stupidity, and "WE" didn't see "BHB" coming a few centuries ago, may-well be a part of the "secular/earthly" forces who don't particularly like God or Jesus Christ, or the fact that our Judeo-Christian HOLY BIBLE, and "THE WORD," was the foundation of ALL of our moralities and principles in the "New World," and was said by many of our Founders, the ONLY BOOK ever needed to live and thrive. Heck, our HOLY BIBLE was the ONLY teaching instrument used in our American education system for a few centuries, and Harvard, Yale, Princeton and many other Universities in America were founded as Judeo-Christian entities. Even the Oxford and Cambridge Universities in England were Judeo-Christian in nature. Well, Satan was having a fit, and got his army of little demons to invent certain "elite" formulations that would separate the "professorial," "methodological naturalization" seculars [WOW], from the "stupid" God fearing "cavemen." That sure went over big with the crowd that crucified Jesus Christ, and they have been trying to throw God off the entire planet again now for a few hundred years; and been quite successful in some "elite," "circles of comrades." Just take a quick look at who's now teaching school, Teachers Unions, and the "small circle of comrades" at the WH; who ARE the final product. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TRUMP!!!

Ok. So glad you brought that up. We have to know there is a difference in the concept of the almighty God & religion. Religion is what you refer to as church. It is simply man's poluted interpetation of God's word.
The concept of God is unpoluted by man.
The founders felt comfortable with applying the principle of an Almighty Sovereign God to the constitution.
The concept of religion was not used because of it's contamination with man or church.
They knew that the Constitution could not coexist with religion.
They also knew, the Constitution would not survive without the concept of an Almighty Creator & his law, the Ten Commandents which is the foundation of the Constitution.
