School Bans Christmas, Trees, Even Red and Green

Progress report from the front lines of the war on Christmas -- you know, the war that according to atheists, leftists and the lamestream media doesn't exist?
An elementary school in Frisco, Texas, under the pretense of not offending anyone, has banned talk of Christmas or the wearing of red and green from its annual "Winter Party."
Not only is the school being politically hyper-correct, it's also breaking Texas' "Merry Christmas Law," which was passed to prevent just this sort of liberal nonsense.
In an email, Nichols Elementary School's PTA told parents that children attending the Winter Party would be forbidden from mentioning Christmas or any other religious holiday, wearing red or green, or displaying Christmas trees.
The issue has drawn the ire of state Rep. Pat Fallon, whose district includes the school.

Fallon said he has received numerous emails and phone calls from parents as well as from teachers asking about their rights.
Fallon responded to the issue in an email sent to every teacher and official in the school district. "Texas law clearly permits Christmas-themed celebrations, events and displays," he wrote. "The district may also display scenes or symbols with traditional winter holidays (e.g. nativity scenes, Christmas trees, menorahs, etc.)"
When challenged on the Scroogesque anti-Christmas rules, the school district at first disavowed any knowledge, then said it was the PTA. It turns out the superintendent had allowed school principals to make their own decisions on the subject, and it seems to be the Nichols principal who is behind this.
After meeting with parents over the issue, the principal decided to stand by her Draconian rules, claiming she doesn't want anyone to be offended by a stray bit of Christmas. Presumably by "anyone," she means anyone other than the hundreds of families who no doubt celebrate Christmas, because she's definitely offended those folks already.
Fallon told FoxNews, "When Gov. Perry signed ‘The Merry Christmas Bill,’ clearly that didn’t solve the issue. The battle rages on. It’s distressing."

I believe that it's time for parents, especially Christian parents, to get together and go to that school and others in large groups and let their officials know that they are EXTREMELY OFFENDED by actions like this and that they deserve the same consideration regarding their feelings as do the small minority of the population who claim to be offended by any thing remotely Christian. A lot of things offend me but I have never gone to some egotistical control freak public official to demand that the offending person be forbidden the right to live the way he/she wants.

My guess is that that PTA would not be the least bit concerned about children dressing in orange and black and bringing a jack-o-lantern for a Halloween party.

In MY experience the teachers union demands that they decide what the PTA can say or do? They demand that only themselves set the curiculum and all the actions of the school! Check out that principal, He or more probably a she, is going along to get along! Offending the parents is the farthest from her mind!

Ending pronounced Christian favoritism should not be construed as persecution. Having said that, separation between church and state has been often been misapplied and misinterpreted, as is clear in the case of a Texas school. These issues are sometimes tricky, and usually highly emotional. For most, anything but lockstep outrage will appear as a socialist gambit or ruse, demanding vitriol. Breathe. America is about freedom--and equality. What if the school had chosen to deck the halls with Ramadan colors (whatever they may be, if they exist)? Or insist on saying, "We wish you a merry Mithras"? Complaints? However, not allowing for green and red or any other free expression of one's faith is just as wrong as the "Merry Christmas Law."

This country was founded on Christian values. People that practice other religions or faiths are allowed to do just that. Just because they have immigrated to this country is no reason to disenfranchise our Christian values or the celebration thereof. In this country, schools recognize and celebrate black history month with all kinds of displays throughout the country's schools promoting black history. No one says anything about that. Schools recognize and celebrate Lincoln's and Washington's birthdays, Columbus Day, Easter, Halloween, Martin Luther King Day, etc. No matter what obummer says, this is a Christian country and the majority of Americans would like it to remain so.

Christian values like the ten commandments have made us strong and desired! On the other hand Muslim values have made every country they have invaded a disaster zone, collapsed the economy, and resulted in millions dead! Wonderful aren't they? Now look at what happens when we admit Marxist values? Compare today with the 60's.

 on supporting Christmas. Around this time of year, I practically yell "Merry Christmas" in public as a matter of principle. My mother, in her 30 years of teaching in elementary schools, made sure to find a way to somehow, ever so subtly but still being respectful of parents who were Jehovah Witnesses, to include their children, even if it was done in an indirect manner. Jehovah Witnesses, as I understand it, deem all of these celebrations as putting man on a higher pedestal than God. My mother could not bear the thought of leaving any child behind, so she ignored protocols to the best of her ability. The only issue here as I see it, since we are now such a diverse society, is how DO you not make children of diversity NOT feel that they are different? How do you not have their parents just as up in arms as we are? I hasten to add faster than a New York minute that I think it is criminal what "they" have been attempting to do, to make Christmas invisible.

HOW SAD AND HOW SICK AND DISGUSTING CAN PEOPLE BE OVER SOMETHING THAT IS HURTING NO ONE. AND I FEEL SORRY FOR THE CHILDREN WHO HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THESE JOY-STEALING ADULTS.
I GUESS THE ADULTS WOULD RATHER SEE ALL THE E-MAIL ABOUT NAKED AND DISGUSTING WOMEN. THE INTERNET IF FULL OF IT TODAY--WOMEN TRYING TO SHOW OFF THEIR BARE BUTTS AND BREASTS HOPING THEY HAVE THE BEST. DOES NOONE HAVE ANY SELF PRIDE ANYMORE????? I WAS TOLD MANY YEARS AGO THAT MEN WILL LOOK, BUT IN ALL HONESTY THEY PREFERRED A FEW SURPRISES IN THEIR FAVORITE FEMALE. IF SHOWING OFF THEIR PRIVATE AREAS IS THE ONLY WAY AN ACTRESS CAN GET GOOD REVUES. IT SEEMS TO ME SHE IS REALLY HARD-UP AND MAYBE IF SHE TRIED TO BE A BIT MORE FORTHCOMING, IN A DECENT WAY, SHE WOULD HAVE SOME SINCERE COMMENTS. I KNOW I AM TIRED OF LOOKING AT THEM. AND, I SUPPOSE SOMEONE WILL SAY--WELL-WHAT IF IT WAS MEN--I WOULD SAY IT WOULD BE A SURPRISE, BUT I, AND MOST DECENT WOMEN WOULD NOT WANT A MAN WHO HAD ADVERTISED HIMSELF ALL OVER THE INTERNET.

These malcontents come here to escape the bad things in their own countries. SO---why don't they go back where they come from instead of turning this country into what they left behind??????? Then where would they go when they had ruined it?
AND THEY COULD TAKE BARACK OBAMA WITH THEM. He wouldn't be missed by most people. In fact, there would be rejoicing. Another idea--let the mistreated women come to see what it really feels like to be a cherished person instead of a kind of chattel or second class "person!!" There are enough of men here already. I hope they are Happy. But do they know how to be?

I guess to anyone who is interested in our children and the things they are being denied that are good and happy experiences due to many factors, including many adults who seem to think it is wrong for a child to have some lovely memories of childhood. That they are old, unhappy, disillusioned, is no reason to deny children today. They will be like them soon enough. When a first grade teacher took it upon herself to tell her students, one of which was my daughter that there was no Santa Claus. she soon found out that children are permitted enjoy make believe as the world creeps in soon enough. In act, in todays world, friends tell me that sometimes her children go to bed sometimes worried about some of the headlines they heard.
