We can remedy that by denying the vote to the young, females and the intellectually and morally unfit. Draconian measures are required. I already added that one. Originally you had to be a property owner. You had to have a dog in the fight. I would disagree with property owner. I was a military Veteran who had been discharged for ten years before I became a property owner. I think military service qualifies as a "dog in the fight."

I never was a fan of "universal suffrage." On the surface, it all sounds so fair and democratic--who could be opposed to it? Dig deeper, you remember that America is not--and never was--a Democracy. The founding fathers--who studied all forms of government in that long-gone literate age--had nothing but scorn for that particular system of government. Bottom line, handing the franchise to those who have no stake in the system is a bad idea. I think we've seen how it works out.
