Only $50.00, AO? How seemingly honest!!! Get Sanders in there and put some umph into the final equation - let's say $500.00; and "spread it around" ["BHB"]!!! Here, homeless man, take this $.43 cents and you BETTER be happy. Here SEIU, you take this $400.00 - and give me the $84,000.00 change!!! Let's see $.43 minus $400.00 equals only about $116,000. I guess I'll just keep that. And there "WE" see a distinct case of secular liberal progressive "obamanomics," - at work? How secular. How liberal. How - progressive. GOOOOOOOOO TRUMP!!!!

The point of the story sailed over your head without grazing a single hair.
The difference between traditional Republicans and Democrats is the Republicans willingly give their own money when needed, but are frugal with that belonging to the public.
Democrats will steal, beg or borrow from anyone and everyone, then dubiously project a false image of generosity by giving it away to others, without ever offering a cent of their own, and without actually accomplishing any good.

A typical Republican value is displayed for us by the Walton family. A large percentage of the Walmart PAC's contributions go to candidates who oppose the minimum wage increase. This help to keep a high percentage of Walmart workers living below the official poverty level. These poor people are being helped to get by with the cost of daily living by traditional Democratic programs like Obamacare.

A Republican and a Democrat were walking down the street when they came to a homeless person. The Republican gave the homeless person his business card and told him to come to his business for a job. He then took twenty dollars out of his pocket and gave it to the homeless person.
The Democrat was very impressed, and when they came to another homeless person, he decided to help. He walked over to the homeless person and gave him directions to the welfare office. He then reached into the Republican's pocket and gave the homeless person fifty dollars.
Now you understand the difference between Republicans and Democrats

Yeah, but you failed to mention that the democrat picked the Republicans pocket for $50 - because he saw the Republican pick the pockets of 5 innocent people, between the first homeless person and the second one.
It doesn't really matter which party gives how much money away, as it all comes from the same source - the middle class. The middle class supports everybody, rich AND poor.

The Republicans want to do away with health care for an approximate 20 million children and elderly, without an alternative. The first thing they cut is aid to children and elderly. The difference between a Republican and Democrat are dollars, and dollars for the Republican are more important than people.
You learn that in college??? Wealth envy, a liberal trademark.
Bad decisions make you poor.

Bad Public Policy decisions contribute in a big way.

You forgot about the part where the Republican had invested heavily in Carrier Air Conditioners, who, responding to investors' demand for ever increasing profits, sent all their manufacturing to Mexico. The Republican's investment ballooned with higher dividends. The homeless man used to work for Carrier.

The job was at McDonalds, so the Republican willingly gave his own money, knowing the homeless person could not possibly survive on McDonalds' wages. The Democrat knows this is true and prepares for an influx of poor people.

Ha, another successful reorientation. Congratulations comrade.
elwood;
If republicans are so concerned about the homeless, the poor, and the middle class, why do they support, and line the pockets of the very people that caused that homeless man to be homeless in the first place?
d. tramp is a great example of the pampered rich people, he rants and raves about bringing jobs back to this country, while wearing ties made by his company in China, that is a true republican.
And the oil companies that have done terrible things to our lakes, rivers, and oceans, and our environment, and after they have cause terrible damaged to our waterways, and wild life, that depend on these waters to survive, republicans give them an amazing amount of money, through tax cuts.
And they still lie about cleaning up their disasters, actually they have not cleaned up any of their mess since the 1950's. Even though the real tax payers, are really paying the cost for them to do so, with the money they save by not paying their taxes.
These are just a couple of examples of republicans caring for the homeless, the poor, and the middle class. And there are a multitude of other examples just like the couple above.
I would advise you to pull your head out, and get a fresh view of the real deal.

Finally a thoughtful, reasoned, and evidence-based reply. About time.
That is not really true but it does seem that way.
Both Republican and Democrat Legistlators are "Self Serving".
Of course you can believe what you want.

Yes, like the decision to be born into poverty and grow up in a neighborhood with lousy schools and a drug dealer on every corner.

There are pleanty of failures that were born rich and grew up in the "best" neighborhoods with drug dealers on every corner too!
Everyone has oportunities to improve themselves.
And becoming rich is not a very good measure of that.
