Officials in Charlotte, N.C., spent more than a year carefully considering and debating an antidiscrimination ordinance that was passed in February to promote the city’s culture of inclusiveness. State lawmakers quashed it on Wednesday by passing an appalling, unconstitutional bill that bars transgender people from using public restrooms that match their gender identity and prohibits cities from passing antidiscrimination ordinances that protect gay and transgender people.

So this is their focus? To patrol bathrooms and check your...I've heard of guarding you loins but this is ridiculous. Trans genders carry your carry your papers! lol

You have a point...just "exactly" how, pray tell, will someone be able to be outed?

Just to throw something else into the mix, what do you think are the odds that the Governor of Georgia will NOT approve the bill designed "in theory" to protect businesses from the LGBT community, given that even Disney is threatening to take their business elsewhere? The Governor has until May to sign or veto.

O K you 99.998% sexually somewhat quasi normal American People. Make way for the one in a million. He , she or it needs to go potty.
So all of you in Charlotte either open your public restrooms to someone who thinks they think like you because they say so ,
or , hold it till you get home.

I understand your feelings of wanting to protect your daughter against the "evil" of the world, but, what's to stop someone, of any persuasion, and that includes heterosexuals, not to enter a bathroom and do your daughter bodily harm? Pedophiles come in every flavor. I have three granddaughters and I say a prayer every day that they stay safe.

They would do that on their own decisions. However, these laws say that your personal privacy means nothing to DC. I WILL NOT ALLOW THIS! !!!

It's funny isn't it? States hate it when the Fed tells them what they may or may not do - but don't have a problem dictating to cities and towns in their own State. It seems that hypocrisy is an acceptable behavior nowadays.
