Have both "Parties" lost their way? What is the purpose of a political party? Is it supposed to gather people of likemindedness for the purpose of deciding what may be "BEST" for the nation?
It SEEMS like the purpose of a political party is to gather power and influence by any means possible and never let go for the purpose of running the country the way the group (not the people) wants it whether it's for "lasting", "temporary", or "no" good. It's about power, not the good of the nation.

Some of the people here on OPP will play the same old song, that Obama was not given a chance, that the Republicans vowed to make him a one term president. To them I say, SO WHAT! Fire the band, play some new tunes. Want to talk about Obama? Okay,

Obama, even if it were true that his hands were tied, managed to do the following. Over the objection of many educated advisors. During his first two years in office, Obama signed into law economic stimulus legislation in response to the Great Recession in the form of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and the Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization, and Job Creation Act of 2010. Other major domestic initiatives in his first term include the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, often referred to as "Obamacare"; the Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act; and the Don't Ask, Don't Tell Repeal Act of 2010. In foreign policy, Obama ended U.S. military involvement in the Iraq War, increased U.S. troop levels in Afghanistan, signed the New START arms control treaty with Russia, ordered U.S. military involvement in Libya, and ordered the military operation that resulted in the death of Osama bin Laden. He later became the first sitting U.S. president to publicly support same-sex marriage. In November 2010, the Republicans regained control of the House of Representatives as the Democratic Party lost a total of 63 seats, and after a lengthy debate over federal spending and whether or not to raise the nation's debt limit, Obama signed the Budget Control Act of 2011 and the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012. Seems superficially an very impressive list. Until you look deeper into these accomplishments and the lies associated with his reign of ruin.

According to Obama, in his own words, his biggest mistake was: ""When I think about what we've done well and what we haven't done well," the president said, "the mistake of my first term - couple of years - was thinking that this job was just about getting the policy right. And that's important. But the nature of this office is also to tell a story to the American people that gives them a sense of unity and purpose and optimism, especially during tough times." When Papa would tuck me into bed he would often tell me a "story." Those stories were not a truthful account of event, but something made up to either make me feel good or to scare the stuffing out of me. So, it would seem with Obama. In his first years of office, he told so many lies that his nose grew 15 feet. I did not think he could top that feat, but now we know that whenever he opens his mouth he is tell the American people a "story."

Now look at the accomplishments: Economic stimulus. Cash for clunkers, environmentally friendly solar...... oh what a thrill. That worked out well. Especially the green energy. How many took the money and is now out of business?? And how many long term jobs were created???? Not many, perhaps new CEOs of automobile manufactures that sent most of that money overseas to those workers leaving behind "fries with that" jobs. He balanced the loss of good paying jobs by increasing welfare, unemployment benefit extensions, and bailed out wall street. Did this end the recession? And Obamacare! What a joke, I would laugh, but it has hurt so many people! Ended the war in Iraq. He finish what was already in progress. And if it is over, why do we still have boots on the ground? Drawdown in one country and a buildup in the neighboring country....now that is good planning!

So, get out the fiddle, tune up the banjo, join in with juice harps and play that song about Obama and having his hands tied. If I had more space, or was inclined, I would go further with the next unproductive years under the supreme reign of our Führer!

Obama has trampled the First and Second Amendments with his spying, wiretapping and gun-grabbing. His health care legislation is not only unconstitutional, it infringes on states' rights and grants the IRS unprecedented power. Now Obama is declaring war on America, demanding amnesty be granted to millions of illegal's, giving them free health care, welfare and social security benefits—as well as a license to steal our jobs! We cannot take another three years of Obama.
Obama is more hell bent than ever on taking America down. His second term plans are more dangerous and destructive than the first. Obama said, Congress stands in his way to Change America. Thank God that Congress is Stopping Obama and trying to Fight back and slow Obama down.
Thank God Obama's hands have been tied.
