While certainly no one can know the mind of 100% of the individuals in any group, this certainly does appear to be the attitude we see in the media of the Republican Party's idea of civil rights.

Willie - I'm always surprised when I hear the accusation that the media is controlled by liberals. Perhaps NSNBC but certainly not Fox. In any case, one need only listen to any of the Republican debates to surmise that this pithy quote has some validity. Just listen to the candidates with no media commentary. Plus this statement was made by a Trump supporter. Hardly a champion of liberal views.

Paul, I'm sure glad you noted that it appears to be the attitude we see portrayed in the "media." At some point, we are going to have to realize that what is portrayed in the media isn't necessarily accurate. I (conservative) just read this to my wife (also conservative) and her reply was, "Do you think that is really the way they think we feel?" My reply to her was that reading what some of the liberals on OPP say about conservatives and, evidently believe it, that it is probably true. I would add that I feel that the media has been one of the main reasons that there exists a schism between whites and blacks that is as wide as it is. I would also hasten to add that Barack Obama has been one of the biggest champions, along with several so-called black leaders, of widening that gap. If anyone disagrees that the media is predominantly left-leaning, even predominantly so, I would be happy to provide them with ample proof that what I say is true. I suspect that the statement attributed to the former Reagan staffer was said with at least partial carelessness since it was in a heated debate. A careful examination of some of the liberal rhetoric of late might lead one to ask if that could be classified as devisive.

Well Paul, the media does lean a bit left, except for FOX...so C'mon now concerning that.
I pesonally do not see it like its being stated, i know a bunch of Republicans as you would expect, and i never see that attitude from them.

I will say i am not surprised at a dumb comment like that, put a mic in front of most people and stupid stuff will flow...please see Waters World on OReilly ( since you used the word pithy )...maybe i am just blind to it also, i do not feel that is the case, but hard to judge yourself brother.

the media is primarily socialist, statist and following the Communist instructions on how to destroy a culture and your enemy. Just pretend that they are really as biased as you say they are, and repeat the lie enough times that it is perceived as the truth.

Didn't Bill Clinton once make a comment about Obama bringing them coffee?
Before him there was a comment by LBJ about having blacks voting democrat?

I think that one party has a much worse civil rights record than the other. At least that is what history tells us.

Democratic idea of Civil Rights: See Chicago! See Chicago's murder rate! See Chicago's record for unlawful detainment!
See Chicago's minority population demand the resignation of their mayor! See Chicago, see unarmed American's wantonly gunned down in their own streets!

Need I say more about the democratic view of civil rights?

ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS

Just one persons opinion. Not the opinion of all conservatives by a long shot. "In the media" that seems to be the attitude of the Republican party, and by the way their attitude is the same as the Democrats. The media is no longer a purveyor of news with no bias. That media has vanished long ago, ever since the liberals started to take over the education system.

No supporter of any candidate is the face of that candidate no matter liberal or conservative.

THE LIBERAL MEDIA HAS ONE GOAL. TO PROMOTE THEIR OWN POLITICAL AGENDA BY "SHAPING PUBLIC OPINION" THROUGH THE DISSEMINATION OF MISINFORMATION AND DISINFORMATION. AKA PROPAGANDA.

The corporatist media is made up of both neoliberal and neoconservative face-men who spout corporatist propaganda meant to divide and misinform. Job well done.
