Welcome to The Michael Savage Newsletter, your daily report on all things “Savage.”

In today’s issue: Michael Savage explained why Donald Trump, who in the wake of his third primary victory is causing the Republican establishment fits, would make a great president.

While the conventional wisdom is that political experience is a prerequisite for the White House, Savage believes Trump’s career as a billionaire real estate developer has prepared him to be the kind of leader the country needs at this moment in history.

Savage told his listeners:

Donald Trump is a builder who’s built magnificent buildings in New York, Atlantic City, Florida, golf clubs, Dubai, I don’t even know where. All over the world. He’s a builder.

I wouldn’t know the first thing about building a one-story house. I wouldn’t know how to put a foundation down. He does.

Think of the people he’s had to work with to build those buildings.

Think of all the complexity, to get the unions in line. To get the concrete poured and not stopped. To get the electricians to not walk off the job.

Do you know what is involved with that?

That’s exactly why he’s going to be a great president. Because he knows how to negotiate.

I could denigrate some of the other candidates, but what’s the point? They’re losing. They’re losing. The people already in their own way understand this.

Most of [the candidates], that I know of, have done nothing all of their life but be politicians.

The only ones that have done anything, that I can tell, on the Republican side, who have been something other than politicians, are Donald Trump, whose buildings speak for him, and Ben Carson, who’s done something real.

He’s a surgeon. And a great surgeon at that. A pediatric neurosurgeon.

I have to repeat to you over and over again. You cannot become a pediatric neurosurgeon through affirmative action. You cannot. It’s impossible.

You have to perform. And if you don’t perform, you don’t become a pediatric neurosurgeon.

It’s not like community organizing.

I used to listen to Michael Savage. Until he went all in for Trump. Now his shows are infomercials for Trump and how great he'll be. So I don't listen to him anymore. I listen to classical music instead while his show is on - until Mark Levin comes on 3 hours later. Even after Savage came out for Trump, I continued to listen to him for a while, but then I noticed how much resentment he had in him. Not good! About why he wasn't hired as a white man after college, but was passed over for minorities. And he's always going on about how great he is because he was a scientist. Big whoop! I'm a patent holding former research chemist turned self employed defense lawyer, both from top 10 schools. So Savage's background doesn't impress me. Like Trump, Savage is an angry guy. Unlike Savage I'm very familiar with the building trades, having built several houses in the bay area. So I'm not impressed by construction trades either. Now when I hear Savage, the comparison between the content of his show and Levin's is night and day. Levin stays focused. Savage has lost it. Anger and resentment, without a constructive direction, is counterproductive. Savage, because of his resentment, has essentially endorsed a liberal in Trump, even though he says liberalism is a mental disorder and even wrote a book with that title. He's throwing away all the advances that conservatism has bestowed on us over millennium by advancing Trump. Being a world-class builder doesn't mean you'd be a good leader. Character is essential. And Trump has none. Ideology is essential. And Trump has no ideology. Trump's supporters, including Savage, have been taken in by Trump's larger-than-life persona. Savage is now a has-been. Go Cruz! The only true conservative!!
