For sure, Trump is all about being cheap workers and increasing profit which he says is an American value but I think the libs have a point where it may be a better American value to pay workers more because there are more of them than there are the Trump rich and the workers are the ones who control the retail and consumer markets. The Trump-like rich are few and put their money into things that don't spur a lot of economic growth like workers spend on stuff.

Hello!

I am a Christian mother of two. I love the Lord and my politics are based on my faith. This means that sometimes I cannot help but post the two together. They go together and I am not ashamed of believing in Christ Jesus. Do I think that the Lord is political? No, but I think as Christians we need to pray and be vocal about our hopes for a better moral government based on Biblical values.

I am not a politician. I am a woman that works hard on a small paycheck to make ends meet. I am passionate about American workers and the value of them. I don't take kindly to the idea that Americans are lazy and every company should hire Hispanics because they are better workers. Americans working hard built this country and it is time that politicians quit giving our jobs away for below average wages. It is hard to make ends meet on a $10-$12 dollar wage. I make the same wage I made in 1996 and everything that is necessary to raise a family is doubled. So its offensive when Trump says our wages are too high.

This country and the people who are running it have lost touch with the American people and basic moral values.
Looking forward to debate.

Hi Leah - and welcome. It's brutal in here so I hope you are not thin-skinned.

The argument in favor of increased wages is made under the false premise that everything else in the economy remains the same. "If I could only make more per hour," so the argue goes, "then I'd be able to afford all the things my family needs to live." And so we support politicians who promise us a "living wage."

The only problem is that the cost of those items continues to go up as well, and more often than not, at a greater pace than the wage increase itself.

So when is the increased wage enough? Why not just give everyone a $100 an hour wage increase and be done with it. Let's just solve everyone's financial troubles at once.

Because all things being relative, that $100/hour would not be enough to buy the things your family needs when the cost of bread and diapers are inflated to keep up with wage increases. It's the proverbial dog chasing its tail.

The real problem, the problem our politicians try so desperately to conceal from us, is the fact that they have weakened our dollar so badly over time, that a week's worth of groceries today now costs the same as a new automobile did in 1915.

Get to the bottom of THAT conundrum and we'd actually be taking the first steps at fixing our nation's financial woes.

Well said c~~so very true what you say here...Unfortunately it falls on deaf ears for that 51% that see it otherwise...Spread the wealth and don't worry about rising costs..After all, we can always print more money can't we???

A fair wage is based on capability to perform the job, and industry average, not on what we need to live...Now it takes two jobs, often with no benefits just to survive..

If you believe any of the financial forecasts it looks as though we are heading right back into another recession as well..Oil where it is, trading slowing, major companies still leaving this country, unemployment numbers a joke and for those working those two jobs, morality and society changes of "me" syndrome set in deep....

This great Nation will survive and I can not wait for 2017 to be here already!!!

Leah, welcome aboard, look forward to your posts..Some very nice people in here, along with a few not so nice...Overall, pleasant...

Leah, you are quite right, I work for a company that has moved a lot of our manufacturing to Mexico. We pay about 12 dollars a day, I guess they (Trumps of the World) don't want to pay any pesky Americans to buy their stuff anymore. Crazy. Trump has declared bankruptcy how many times? How many times do you think you would get away buying stuff on credit and then declaring bankruptcy, try zero.
