Welcome General. I'm the other progressive on here. Most have fled in terror. There are a few intelligent conservatives that you can have semi rational exchanges with, but most are mouth foaming head bangers, many with a religious right wing nut bent. You will soon find them, or they will find you. Good luck!
Yeah I've already seen that too. Ah well, I take solace in the fact that we, the liberals, are the majority (in real life), and these Tea Party wingnuts are far, far in the minority.

Just when did this liberal majority appear? How much of the majority of liberals in today's America depend on that portion of the electorate that has been induced to vote for a living? If you take that portion away, do you really think the rest are liberals?

This majority of liberals is very clear. The democrats have the presidency and the Senate, and continue to gain ground in the House. The liberal viewpoint gains ground every single day, and if you talk to the random person on the street you will find an overwhelming amount of them agree with Democratic policy. The Republican party is a great propaganda machine, but finally intelligence is starting to pull ahead.

Assuming for a moment you are correct (by ignoring 30 governors and 26 state legislatures controlled by Republicans to do so) - what percentage of those with the liberal view point do so because they are government dependents? Further, assuming the random person in the street can even name one Democratic policy - or even name their own Senators - how do you jump to the conclusion that it is a function of intelligence.
Think this through - suppose the kind of "intelligent" voter who elected and re-elected a Jesse Jackson Jr refrained from voting, how large would the margin of victory be for conservatives principles.
I hope this little thought experiement might get you to realize the real propaganda machine is the one that has you so througly confused
Dave,
You are the guy, who's mind is made up, and doesn't want to be confused by the facts.

Perhaps I'm confused about the facts your refer to because you haven't referred to any facts.
Grazeem and Chardo, do your best. But I'm not staying here, I've found there is way too much idiocy on this site for me.

My response is, in fact, your question. "Now, what was that about?"
I may have ignored as two close friends from New York and another from Massachusetts advised me once to ignore anything from New Jersey.
Hopefully your middle name is not Henry.

Dont get me wrong, he may well be more intelligent than many here. At least he speaks in sentences and doesnt curse or use disparaging slurs, but he has some strange ideas, like that all liberals are dependent on government in one way or another. Remember the 47% remark? These guys dont learn}
Further, assuming the random person in the street can even name one Democratic policy - or even name their own Senators - how do you jump to the conclusion that it is a function of intelligence.{There is a difference between knowledge and intelligence, granted, it takes both to make good decisions, but I will also say that the intelligent person, even lacking some knowledge, will make better decisions that those who think that they know it all, but dont learn by mistakes that are made. Case in point: going back to the failed economic policies of Reagan and the Bushes, which Dave is real big on. Common sense my man.}
Think this through - suppose the kind of "intelligent" voter who elected and re-elected a Jesse Jackson Jr refrained from voting, how large would the margin of victory be for conservatives principles. {I dont know what hes saying here. So Jackson screwed up, and that the people who voted for him were stupid? I think that there have been a few Republicans who did some stupid things. Any way, he seems to want to think that people out there are far more conservative than they are. Notwithstanding the number of states with majority Republicans in office, there is a difference between conservative and crazy. If the general population reflected the insanity on this site, we would not have same sex marriage legal in 11 states and counting, Obama would not have been elected one, leave alone twice, and Rush Limbaugh would be the Senate Majority leader.
